We love it when companies continue improving a product that’s been available for some time. ASUS is doing that now with the original ZenFone 3 Max and its already generous battery capacity.

Announced on the brand’s ZenTalk forums, the latest software update for the 5.2-inch ZenFone 3 Max (ZC520TL) adds an app called Power Master, which is designed to boost battery life even further.

That’s quite an achievement, considering how well optimized this particular Max is in power consumption out of the box. It even beats its larger 5.5-inch variant, which, by the way, doesn’t seem to be getting this firmware update yet.

On top of the decreased energy drain, the ZenFone 3 Max will also have more optimized performance for the fingerprint sensor, camera, and touchscreen once the software is downloaded and installed.

You can check for the update manually by entering Settings, and looking for System Update inside the About section. You should find version ready to download.

Hopefully, we’ll see this improvement in other ZenFones, as well. If ASUS can do this for an aging entry-level phone, there shouldn’t be any excuse to ignore the more premium offerings.
