Meizu is all set to unveil its much-awaited smartphone now that the official invite has been posted online.
Ard Boudeling, Meizu’s Head of Global Marketing, posted on his Twitter profile the official date of the launch of the company’s newest smartphone, the Meizu Pro 7. It’s confirmed the device will be unveiled on July 26.
Not only was the final and official date confirmed, but also the handset’s other screen on its back. We’ve seen secondary screens from the likes of the LG V10, HTC U Ultra, and Cherry Mobile Taiji before, but Meizu’s take is interesting. The small screen, using E-ink technology, could act as a preview pane for taking selfies with the rear camera (which is the better shooter) and contain the usual time, date, and weather information, plus shortcuts.
The phone has been around the rumor mill for quite some time, so here are the suspected specifications: a 5.2-inch main display, dual 12-megapixel rear cameras, up to 4GB of memory, up to 128GB of storage, and Helio X30 processor.
A “Plus” variant of the Pro 7 is also expected, but there are no concrete details aside from early rumors of having an Exynos 8895 processor, which powers Samsung’s current flagship phone.
