We’ve had our fun coming up with wacky names for Android O, and we even asked popular YouTubers what they think the next version of Android will be called. Now, in a surprising twist, Google is hinting at an unusual moniker that’s not a sweet dessert.

Currently in its fourth version of the developer preview, Android O Beta contains an interesting Easter egg in its settings menu. Where you’d normally get a cat-themed mini-game called Android Neko after tapping an option several times, a floating octopus took its place, hinting at the possible name for Android O.

As The Verge pointed out, using the eight-legged critter would make sense for Android 8.0. The only concerns are: Would this break the streak of dessert-oriented Android versions, or does an octopus dessert make enough sense in some parts of the world?

Of course, Google may very well be just tricking us out. In the recent Google I/O conference, snack bars were littered with Oreo to keep attendees guessing.

With the official build of Android O rolling out to devices some time next month, we won’t have to wait much longer to find out for sure.
