A KFC phone made in partnership with Huawei has just been announced in China. Yup, a phone from the famous fast food chain selling fried chicken.
KFC is celebrating its 30-year presence in China, hence the release of a limited edition handset. The phone is a modified variant of the existing Huawei Enjoy 7 Plus, according to its listing.
It’s got a 5.5-inch HD screen with a Snapdragon 425 processor, 3GB of RAM, and 32GB of expandable storage. It also has a 3020mAh battery and fingerprint reader, although the KFC phone looks a lot different from its cousin.
What makes the phone so Kentucky Fried Chicken is its bright red color with an embossed face of Colonel Sanders on the back.
Its KFC-ness doesn’t end there; the phone comes with a dedicated music app for creating and sharing playlists while inside a KFC restaurant. It also comes with 100,000 “K dollars,” a digital currency used by KFC in China.
The secret recipe, though, is not preloaded on the phone. Check it out in action:
The phone is limited in stocks. Huawei and KFC only have 5,000 units priced at CNY 1,099 or around US$ 162.
