Back when we learned about the Vivo V5 Plus’ launch date, we were kept in the dark when it came to its specifications. Now, thanks to one of Malaysia’s online retailers, we know pretty much everything about the upcoming phone.
As of writing, DirectD’s pre-order listing of the V5 Plus — complete with all the important features — is still online, as if this wasn’t an accident. Good for fans, bad for Vivo; customers can start looking into it, while the Chinese brand has no surprises left for its launch later this week.
The specs for the cameras, display, memory, and storage all line up with what we reported earlier this month. New bits of information include Qualcomm’s highly efficient Snapdragon 625 chipset in the handset, as well as a 3160mAh battery with fast charging and inclusion of Android Marshmallow (in the era of Nougat).
Even more interesting is the price: MYR 1,799 or $400 when converted. That pits the V5 Plus against the likes of the ASUS ZenFone 3 and Samsung Galaxy A series. In addition, Malaysians will receive a set of exclusive gifts plus a mystery item for pre-ordering now. We have no idea if other countries are getting the same treatment.
The actual, official launch will reportedly happen on January 20 in select markets. As for the Philippines and India, they’ll see it unveiled on January 21 and 23, respectively.
