Take on the outdoors!

Garmin continues its wearable dominance with its new collection of outdoor smartwatches. The Swiss technology company brought out the renowned fēnix series now on its seventh iteration, along with epix — a new premium GPS smartwatch for urban adventurers.

What’s new on the fēnix 7 series?

The seventh iteration of the fēnix line is equipped with upgraded features, banking on its prominent build and design. It uses wear-resistant, scratch-resistant, and anti-reflective Power Sapphire with a solar panel. Solar efficiency has been increased by 200% through expanding the panel’s surface and optimizing the solar cell’s configuration and conductive materials.

Its Power Manager function has also been upgraded to increase the overall battery life by nearly 300 percent, allowing the fenix 7X to achieve up to 24 days of battery life under UltraTrac Mode.

Athletes get more features geared towards helping them perform better. The Real-Time Stamina function helps users understand their current physical strength, so they can adjust speed and intensity concurrently.

There’s also the Up Ahead feature that lets users create a route and mark their waypoints through the Garmin Connect app, which syncs to the fēnix 7X.

Moreover, the fēnix 7X introduces the first-ever built-in flashlight which supports four levels of brightness and even a red strobe light to display SOS signals during a crisis. Runners can also take advantage of the flashlight which can be set to running cadence, alternating between white and red lights to enhance safety when running at dusk or at night.

epix now comes with AMOLED

Not everyone is an adventurer day in and day out. This is why Garmin brings out epix — a premium GPS smartwatch for urbanites who relish between outdoor challenges and keeping everything in style.

One of Garmin’s outdoor series, epix, is the first to be equipped with a built-in AMOLED touchscreen while still featuring a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal lens. It also sports a 4mm lightweight titanium alloy bezel. Further, epix lets you switch between touchscreen and physical button usage.

The smartwatch offers more than 40 sports modes, supporting over 42,000 golf course maps and 2,200 ski resorts around the world. Of course, it carries Garmin’s prominent health functions and smart features.

What sets the epix apart is its exceptional battery life, continuously recording data for 30 hours under GPS sports mode. Under smartwatch mode, it has an ample 16-day battery life and even up to 21 days when Power Manager is activated.

OPPO Reno16 Series | BABYMONSTER

OPPO has confirmed that the Reno16 Series 5G is coming soon to the Philippines.

The upcoming smartphone series will introduce the company’s new Pocket Studio imaging experience alongside OPPO Bubble with Camera Remote View. The launch also continues OPPO’s partnership with K-pop girl group BABYMONSTER, the brand’s global ambassadors.

Pocket Studio puts the focus on photography

OPPO positions the Reno16 Series 5G as a camera-first smartphone. The series features a 200MP main camera, a 50MP ultra-wide selfie camera, and Dual View Video for capturing photos and videos from multiple perspectives.

The company says these upgrades are designed to make mobile photography and content creation more versatile. Users can capture wide group selfies, detailed portraits, and creative videos without carrying dedicated camera gear.

OPPO Bubble brings remote camera controls

A standout feature is OPPO Bubble with Camera Remote View.

The new feature lets users pair the Reno16 Series 5G with compatible OPPO devices. From there, they can preview the camera feed remotely and trigger the shutter wirelessly.

This also allows users to frame selfies and group photos using the phone’s rear cameras while viewing the composition from another device. OPPO says the feature makes it easier to capture everyone in the frame without relying on timers.

Coming soon

The OPPO Reno16 Series 5G will arrive in the Philippines soon.

OPPO has yet to announce the official launch date, pricing, and local availability. More details are expected in the coming weeks.
