Garmin has launched two new running smartwatches providing full triathlon support and new training metrics in the Forerunner 255S and Forerunner 255S Music.

Succeeding the Forerunner 245 series, both wearables come in a more compact 41mm sized case with even more enhanced features when paired with a smartphone.

Full triathlon support, new training metrics

Aside from what running and fitness smartwatches usually provide, the Forerunner 255 Series is capable of full triathlon support wherein users can easily switch between sports with a button press during actual races.

A race widget enables users to view information related to race preparation as well, including predictions, countdown clocks, and even race day weather. Speaking of which, the morning report feature shows the day’s weather and daily workout suggestions.

When it comes to health monitoring, the series has Wrist-based Pulse Ox 3 and the Body Battery that shows current energy levels, on top of tracking for women.

Garmin Coach lets runners train for a 5K, 10K, or half-marathon run with free personalized plans that suit the preparation.

Garmin has likewise improved its GPS accuracy with multi-band, multi-satellite system tracking. Safety-wise, the Forerunner 255 series has LiveTrack, incident detection and assistance, and will automatically upload activities to Garmin Connect.

Any purchase of the Forerunner 255 series lets customers avail of a 20 percent discount voucher for ASICS.

PLDT Home launches MyOwnWifi

Dedicated WiFi for those who need exclusive bandwidth

Published

on

Sharing your internet with the rest of people in the same place can sometimes take a toll in the connection’s bandwidth especially if one needs to consume a high bandwidth, like for watching HD videos.

To solve this, PLDT Home has launched MyOwnWifi. It lets solo heavy bandwidth users to get the maximum speed of their modem without affecting others’ connection.

To do this, there will be a secondary Fiber connection and a Wifi Mesh device delivered for free so they can connect more devices.

To get the second line, just pay 50 percent of the original plan of the first line:

  • Fiber Plan 1299 (25Mbps)
  • Fiber Plan 1699 (100Mbps)
  • Fiber Plan 2099 (200Mbps)
  • Fiber Plan 2699 (400Mbps)

Just to recall, PLDT Home Fiber Plans come in two categories: Fiber Unli Plans and Fiber Plus Plans, which are inclusive of Mesh Wifi devices.

Plug, play, enjoy

The best part of MyOwnWifi is that there’s no installation required. Upon successful subscription, subscribers can connect the MyOwnWifi device to LAN Port 2 of their existing modem, and instantly get the additional same speeds as their current subscription.

The add-on will also be charged on top of their current subscription bill for a seamless and hassle-free experience.
