Ghost of Yotei release date set for Oct 2
With Pre-order details
Sucker Punch Productions has announced that their highly anticipated title, Ghost of Yotei, will be launching exclusively on PlayStation 5 on October 2, 2025.
The announcement comes nearly five years after the release of their critically acclaimed Ghost of Tsushima.
The developer assures fans that Ghost of Yōtei will feature an entirely new and independent narrative. They also emphasize their commitment to delivering a worthy successor to Jin Sakai’s epic journey. Players will step into the shoes of Atsu, a formidable warrior driven by a quest for vengeance.
Jin out, Atsu in
A newly released trailer, titled “The Onryō’s List,” offers a glimpse into Atsu’s tragic past. Sixteen years prior, in the region of Ezo (modern-day Hokkaido), a ruthless gang known as the Yōtei Six brutally murdered Atsu’s family and left her for dead.
Surviving the ordeal, Atsu has spent years honing her skills in combat, assassination, and hunting. Now, she returns to her homeland armed with the very katana that once pinned her to a burning tree. With it carries a list of six names: The Snake, The Oni, The Kitsune, The Spider, The Dragon, and Lord Saito.
Atsu’s journey for retribution will see her systematically hunt down each member of the Yōtei Six. However, the developers hint that her path will evolve beyond mere revenge. She will explore the landscapes of Ezo, forging unexpected alliances and discovering a new sense of purpose.
The trailer also showcases the stunning environments of Ezo, along with a selection of Atsu’s diverse weaponry and a few of her allies. Notably, a new gameplay mechanic will allow players to experience glimpses into Atsu’s past, providing deeper insight into the events that shaped her quest.
Enchanced experience
Sucker Punch Productions promises an enhanced open-world experience in Ghost of Yōtei. This builds upon the foundations laid by Ghost of Tsushima.
Players will have greater freedom in choosing their objectives, deciding which member of the Yōtei Six to pursue first.
Additionally, Atsu can undertake bounty hunts and seek out weapon masters to acquire new skills.
The vibrant yet perilous world of Ezo will offer opportunities for both intense encounters and moments of respite, including the return of familiar activities from Tsushima and the new ability to set up camp anywhere for rest.

Bloodborne is getting an R-rated animated film adaptation
And it’s going to be produced by Sony and Jacksepticeye.
FromSoftware fans are eating well these days. Though gamers are still anticipating the arrival of The Duskbloods on the Switch 2, the studio’s other franchises are getting well-deserved nods for adaptations: Sekiro, Elden Ring, and now, Bloodborne.
Sekiro has already been slated for an anime adaptation for a while now. Meanwhile, Alex Garland recently confirmed that he is adapting Elden Ring for A24. Today, Sony Pictures has confirmed that the studio is working on an R-rated animated film based on Bloodborne.
Via Variety, Sony Pictures president Sanford Panitch says that the upcoming adaptation will keep the game’s essence of horror and gore. With a name like “Bloodborne,” you can’t have an adaptation without a heaping of blood.
Besides Sony, the animated project has another big name attached to its production: YouTuber Jacksepticeye. Throughout his career, the creator has been vocal about considering Bloodborne as his favorite game of all time. He even has a tattoo of the Hunter’s Mark on his forearm. For this project, Jack will be a co-producer.
Though the creator’s skill in filmmaking is still a relative unknown, Jack’s love for the game should give the project a gamer’s voice. If anything, Markiplier’s recent Iron Lung adaptation offers optimism that YouTubers can also create decent films.
