Pixel 6a reportedly set to launch in May

The Pixel 6 series is arguably Google’s most popular flagship series in its more recent slew of smartphones. Hype for the series ballooned because of Google’s much-anticipated in-house chipset, the Tensor. Naturally, everyone wants to get their hands on the new flagships — often to varying efforts due to limited supplies in certain countries. Luckily, the two currently available models aren’t the only ways to buy into the new series. Google usually launches an “a” variant to keep the series going. And, because of a new leak, we might finally know when the Pixel 6a is coming.

Leaked on Twitter by Max Jambor, the flagship follow-up will reportedly come in May. Though the leak did not reveal a clearer date, it’s one of the first launch rumors for the upcoming smartphone. And, if anything, more rumors lend credence to the coming of the Pixel 6a, still unconfirmed by Google at this point.

However, since Google often launches follow-up variants, a Pixel 6a is no surprise. In fact, a leak from months ago already speculated on what the smartphone will look like. Naturally sharing the original Pixel 6’s unique design, the 6.2-inch Pixel 6a, according to the rumor, will also have the sizable camera strip. Though it has the strip, the phone will allegedly come with a smaller 12.2-megapixel sensor. Plus, to note something that regular users might find fascinating, the leaked renders don’t have the ever-useful headphone jack.

Still some ways before the expected launch, there’s still a lot of room for the Pixel 6a to change — at least in how leaks portray the phone.

Samsung Unpacked in Seoul: More foldables coming

Samsung’s Galaxy Unpacked event is coming home. The smartphone giant will unveil its next generation of foldable devices in late July 2023. The event will take place at the COEX in Samseong-dong, Gangnam in the South Korean capital of Seoul.

Samsung has held Unpacked in key cities around the world. These include Las Vegas, New York, London, Berlin, and Barcelona since 2010.

Now, the global platform will focus on Samsung’s next line of foldables, as well as its groundbreaking technologies to offer the world a glimpse into the future.

The brand has enjoyed success in the foldable smartphone category; in 2022, the Korean market has had a remarkable 13.6% foldable phone adoption rate.

Samsung has also dominated foldable phone market shares last year, enjoying more than an 80% mark.

Global shipments have also increased, while it is predicted that foldables’ compound annual growth will increase to more than 30%.

Samsung introduced its first ever Galaxy Fold in 2019, and since then, the company has released a handful of high-end devices, with the Galaxy Z Fold4 and Galaxy Z Flip4 being its latest.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2: Release date, pre-order revealed

The release date of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 has been revealed. The much anticipated sequel will drop on October 20 for PlayStation 5.

Pre-orders will start on June 16 in all participating retailers and PlayStation stores.

The Digital Deluxe edition will include the game, all pre-order incentives, as well as 10 unique suits – five for each – additional Photo Mode frames and stickers, and two additional skill points.

Explore New York as both Peter, Miles

As players explore Manhattan, Queens, and Brooklyn, fan-favorite villains like Venom, Lizard, and Kraven will threaten them, and it’s up to them to utilize Peter and Miles’ new abilities to win.

Eddie Brock isn’t Venom

Another sort of big reveal is that Venom won’t be Eddie Brock which is how it initially played out in the original comic books. Insomniac Games Creative Director confirmed as much at the Summer Game Fest 2023.

“It is not Eddie Brock, our goal was to tell an original story something you haven’t seen in the comics and the movies yet,” said Intihar.
