Honor Magic4 Ultimate bags first place in camera ranking

Coming later this year

How big of a camera do you need for your smartphone? Regardless of what size you think you need, Honor’s ideas are probably larger than yours. The company’s recently launched Magic4 series sports an absurd camera-to-body ratio that you might think it was the Xbox Series S. Despite its size, things are about to get bigger. Now, Honor has launched an even bigger entry to the series, the Honor Magic4 Ultimate.

How big is big? Well, the first two versions packed in three huge cameras into its gigantic camera bump. The Magic4 Ultimate squeezes in a fourth camera. The new version comes with a 50-megapixel main sensor with custom 8P lens, a 64-megapixel ultrawide sensor with a dual freeform lens, another 64-megapixel periscope telephoto sensor, and a 50-megapixel spectrum enhanced sensor. If that’s not enough, it also sports an all-new image processor.

The new cameras are designed to withstand any shooting condition. With a large f/1.6 aperture, the main sensor can reportedly shoot crisp photos in low-light conditions. Additionally, an ultra anti-reflection coating prevents lens flares from overly lit shooting locales.

Meanwhile, the ultrawide cameras tout a 126-degree field of view, allowing for more detail in a single shot. The periscope lens comes with 3.5x optical zoom and 100x digital zoom capabilities.

With four impressive cameras at its back, the smartphone just bagged first place in DxOMark’s camera rankings.

Underneath everything, the Magic4 Ultimate packs in the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor. The phone’s 6.81-inch LTPO display supports 1920Hz pulse-width modulation to increase the viewing experience. Further, it will come installed with Android 12 rocking the Magic UI 6.0 core.

The Magic4 Ultimate will launch in China later this year for RMB 7,999.
