Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection coming in 2026
Lead Azuria in a journey northward and into the unknown
Capcom has announced that Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection is coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and Steam in 2026.
The announcement was made during the Nintendo Direct presentation. An announcement trailer has also been dropped. According to Capcom, the game is “currently in development”.
The all new adventure is the latest installment in the popular RPG series. In the title, Riders embark on thrilling journeys across the vast world of Monster Hunter.
Of course, it builds upon the beloved Monster Hunter Stories universe, where players bond with monsters, raise them, and embark on adventures.
In the trailer, players can catch a glimpse of the upcoming game’s evolved graphics and emotionally rich story.
Twin Rathalos, born in a twist of fate
In Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection, two nations are on the path to ruin. Amidst the growing crystal encroachment facing the lands of Azuria and Vermeil, the discovery of a mysterious egg gives cause for hope.
From the shell hatches a monster long thought to be extinct, a Rathalos. However, this glimmer quickly gives way to despair as a second monster emerges from the egg.
The twin Rathalos share the same mark as the twin Skyscale Rathalos, portents of destruction that hearken back to a civil war waged 200 years ago.
As the environment deteriorates and monsters face extinction, the flames of war once again begin to stir.
Leading the rangers
Players will play the heir to Azuria, blessed with special abilities to lead them. Players will become leader of the Rangers and sole Rathalos Rider in the kingdom.
After a life-changing even soon drives the Rangers to investigate a strange phenomena threatening the world, they set out for the forbidden land beyond the northern Meridian.
The protagonist hero will also be joined by Eleanor, princess of Vermeil. Troubled by the worsening situation, she offers herself as hostage to Azuria in hopes of easing tensions between the two nations.
Eleanor and her cherished Monstie, Anjanath, come along for the ride, seeking to uncover the true intentions of her sister, the Queen of Vermeil.
Furthermore, the upcoming title will feature Ratha. Once believed to be extinct, this Rathalos was born 10 year ago through a ritual.
Bearing skyscale, it is one of the twin Skyscale Rathalos said to bring calamity. It now serves as the protagonist’s Monstie in Azuria.
It is the Magnamalo that the cast should be wary of. Also known as the “Vengeful Beast”, the fearsome creature has an insatiable appetite and devours preys whole.
Magnamalo stands in the path of the aforementioned heroes as they travel northward, as it guards something unknown.

Ubisoft co-founder dies in plane crash
Claude Guillemot was one of five brothers that founded Ubisoft.
Claude Guillemot, one of the four co-founders of Ubisoft, has died last week in a plane crash. He was 69 years old.
As reported via Bloomberg, Guillemot died alongside the plane’s other passenger. They both died in La Baule in France.
Regardless of how you feel about the company today, Ubisoft is still an undeniable reason why RPGs are so popular. In 1984, Guillemot started the company with his four brothers. Since then, it’s become a household name for gaming. Its portfolio includes Assassin’s Creed, Prince of Persia, Splinter Cell, Anno, and Far Cry. Despite the prolific resume, the company is currently struggling to recreate the magic that made it so popular over a decade ago. Its current efforts include remaking Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag, which launches next month.
Though Claude might not be your first thought when thinking of Ubisoft, the company is still owned by the family, headed by his brother Yves. Claude, however, was the chairman of Guillemot Corp.
“Ubisoft was deeply saddened to learn of the death of Claude Guillemot, co-founder of the group and chairman of Guillemot Corp., in an accident. Our thoughts are with his family and loved ones during this difficult time. No further statements will be made at this time,” Ubisoft said about his passing.
