New USB 4 features 80Gbps transfers
And with existing hardware

The world of USBs is about to get a major upgrade. While everyone is finally opening up to USB-C as a truly universal standard, developers behind the scenes have announced what’s coming for the USB. As confirmed recently, the next standard, USB 4 Version 2.0, will have double the speeds using the same hardware.
In an official release, the USB Promotor Group announced that USB 4 Version 2.0 will have a transfer speed of 80Gbps. For reference, the current standard only goes up to 40Gbps.
Now, the current one is already a huge amount of data. The next one is astonishing. To put it into context, 80Gb is 10GB. You can theoretically transfer Call of Duty: Warzone in only around ten seconds.
Plus, that’s not even the most amazing part. The announcement says that the upcoming standard will work even with existing hardware. If you have a 40Gbps USB-C cable, it will still work perfectly when USB 4 Version 2.0 finally rolls out.
And speaking of, when is it coming out? Unfortunately, it’s not for public consumption yet. Only developers will have access to the new standard. While the standard is impressive for everyone, it isn’t completely useful except for those who rely on data transfers for a living.

Philips launches Professional Soundbar dedicated for hotel rooms
Designed for MediaSuite TVs

Philips has ventured into the soundbar business with the global launch of the Philips Professional Soundbar (HAL5023) that brings powerful cinematic audio experiences in hotel rooms.
The two-in-one soundbar comes with a built-in subwoofer that has been designed and configured exclusively to suit Philips’ MediaSuite TVs, delivering a better and more immersive entertainment experience.
The device was built in collaboration with TP Vision’s Philips sound team; it features a professional 2.1 channel setup. It is designed to be installed effortlessly as either a freestanding or wall-mountable soundbar.
Afterwards, users may easily configure the soundbar’s settings using the professional setup menu on the Philips MediaSuite TV.
All other related settings can be quickly copied and transferred to the entire TV fleet remotely through cloning via PPDS CMND.
Control your experience
The newly-released soundbar can be controlled using the standard MediaSuite TV remote, eliminating the need for another controller.
It can also double as a high-end speaker for guests wishing to play any song, podcast, video, or audio file out loud on their personal devices, via Bluetooth or the built-in Chromecast technology on the MediaSuite TV.
The soundbar also comes with a power adapter so that only one power outlet is used, along with the TV.

Today, a webcam is an invaluable piece of technology essential to workstations and gaming rigs alike. If you’re still shopping for a decent camera for your PC, Logitech has a new option for you. The Logitech Brio 100 is an affordable piece that can deliver quality audio and video for your needs.
Despite being a small shooter, the Brio 100 can deliver Full HD 1080p video for your calls. Plus, with RightLight technology, the camera can automatically increase brightness by 50 percent and reduce shadows from your video. You can also manually customize the video through the Logi Options+ app.
Additionally, you won’t need an external mic to pair with your webcam. It comes with a built-in mic already. It also comes with a 1.5m cable, so you can position the webcam in any angle you’d want.
The Brio 100 is available starting September 21. It is compatible with any USB-A ports on Windows, MacOS, and ChromeOS. It retails for SGD 59 and will come in Graphite, Off-White, and Rose.
Pebble 2 Combo
The new Brio 100 isn’t the only thing on Logitech’s slate today. The company also launched the new Pebble 2 Combo, comprised of the Pebble Keys 2 K380s keyboard and the Pebble Mouse 2 M350s.
The Pebble Keys 2 K380s is a lightweight keyboard built for portability. The slim design gives way to scooped round keys for maximum comfort when typing. You can also connect up to three devices simultaneously. You can then easily switch between these devices using the Easy-Switch buttons. Further, button customization is easy with the Logi Options+ app. The battery can last up to three years, too.
Meanwhile, the Pebble Mouse 2 M350s is also built for portability. The lightweight mouse has Silent Touch technology, which reduces the clicking noise by 90 percent. You can also connect it to up to three devices. The battery can last up to two years.
Both the keyboard and the mouse are available in Tonal Graphite, Tonal White, and Tonal Rose. The keyboard retails for SGD 65. The mouse sells for SGD 49.
Finally, the Logitech Pebble 2 combo — which bundles the two devices together — sells for SGD 89. The combo will also come in two additional color options: Tonal Sand and Tonal Blue.
