League of Legends esports events are considered premier and garner millions of viewers globally. Every year, hundreds of players compete in the international events hosted by Riot Games, the publisher of LoL. This year, Riot is signing OPPO as its first global smartphone partner for LoL.

The esports events where OPPO is a smartphone partner are the world championship, mid-season invitational, and all-star event. This is a multi-year partnership, beginning from 2019 and lasting until 2024. This is also OPPO’s first foray into esports, diversifying the company’s partnership and investment portfolio.

As the first global smartphone partner for LoL esports events, OPPO will grace the events with these:

  • MVP presented by OPPO: The company will be the presenting partner for the Most Valuable Player award for the most critical matches of the season.
  • OPPO Cam: The company will broadcast the world championship to millions of fans tuning in. The OPPO Cam will allow fans to watch cosplays and behind-the-scenes of the events.
  • Welcome to the Rift: OPPO will spotlight teams appearing inaugurally at the world championship, allowing fans an inside look at the next League of Legend prodigies, the top underdog contenders, and the most dangerous dark horses.

During the events, OPPO will also run a series of consumer promotions that give players a chance to win a trip with behind-the-scenes access to the world championship, all-Star event, or mid-season invitational.

With the partnership, OPPO adds League of Legends to its roster of premier sport partners which includes Wimbledon, FC Barcelona, and the International Cricket Council, among others. It also puts the company into the global esports market, which is a lucrative market with millions of view

Every December, Spotify releases the much-awaited “Spotify Wrapped,” where users find out their top songs of the year. Since this year and this decade is ending, Spotify added a different twist in this year’s wrap-up.

The 2019 Wrapped will include songs, albums, artists, and podcasts you listened to throughout the year, and the artists you listened to the most throughout the decade. When I saw my wrap-up, I found it funny how I listen to the same songs every year. Spotify knows what songs we obsess over.

Furthermore, Spotify highlights the places where your top artists hail from through a world map. Additionally, podcasts are added to the “Wrapped” experience.

Spotify users, particularly those who were subscribed to a premium subscription, get a personalized recap, too.
