Pokémon Legends: Z-A has revealed when it’s coming out

Not exact yet, but we’ll take it

Exactly a year ago, The Pokémon Company announced Pokémon Legends: Z-A. The spiritual sequel to Pokémon Legends: Arceus will continue to refine the open-world formula introduced in the Legends series. Now, after practically a year of silence since the announcement, The Pokémon Company has released more information — including a release window — about the upcoming title.

During today’s Pokémon Presents, a second trailer for the upcoming open-world game came out. The video revealed more information about the game, particularly its plot.

As revealed a year ago, the game will take place in Lumiose City during a period of urban development. The city’s architects are creating a more immersive world wherein people and Pokémon can coexist.

Hence, the city will have designated Wild Zones where wild Pokémon can live and thrive. Trainers can catch more Pokémon inside these zones.

Combat is also essential, and the game will further improve the more dynamic system introduced in Arceus. This time, spacing is much more important as certain moves will have a limited range of effect, necessitating trainers to move throughout the battle.

Perhaps addressing the criticisms from Arceus, the peeks we got of the actual city look more vibrant than the mostly empty lands of the previous game. Of course, only the final product will tell whether the city really is as vibrant as they say it is.

To cap off the presentation, The Pokémon Company finally revealed when Pokémon Legends: Z-A is launching: late 2025!
