Pornhub: Filipinos are ‘romantic’ and ‘Korean’ lovers in 2022
‘Japanese’ also makes a comeback
It’s a yearly tradition at this point. As with every year, Pornhub has released its year-in-review, collating all the interesting factoids from its viewers in 2022. The Philippines, ever the enthusiast, landed once again among the top countries who visit the NSFW site.
After a year, let’s see how the country changed its viewing habits.
Except the United States and the United Kingdom, there’s been a lot of movement in the top spots with several countries exchanging spots. The Philippines, however, is still holding on to the 9th spot, sneaking closer to overtaking Canada for 8th.
On the other hand, Filipinos are finishing faster than before. Compared to last year’s impressive 11 minutes and 31 seconds, a single session in the Philippines lasted only 10 minutes and 59 seconds, tying with Japan for second-longest time.
Much like last year, the Philippines makes impressive strides in inclusivity. Last year, the term “pinoy” jumped an astonishing 14 spots in gay search terms. This year, the term jumped once again and is now the third-most searched in the genre.
Speaking of inclusivity, the Philippines is once again at one of the ends of the spectrum between male and female viewers. Up by one percent last year, 53 percent of viewers from the Philippines are female.
In terms of age, this year’s demographics looks similar to last year’s. As always, young people are more inclined to visit the site. If anything, there are a tiny bit more this year and less from people between ages 35 to 44.
Last year presented a (relatively) more even keel between the different platforms used to view Pornhub. This year, it’s all about smartphones. The most of any country in the top 20, a whopping 94 percent of viewers in the Philippines use their phones to watch videos.
Compared to the other interesting bits in this year-in-review, the more specific searches in the country are a surprise. For one, Filipinos are no longer as crazy about hentai as they were last year. After “pinay,” viewers are searching for “Japanese” next. New entries this year are “new pinay” and “pinay gangbang.”
The top trending searches are a surprise, too. A lot of viewers searched for “pinay tattoo” and “tattoo artist.” They also searched for “pinay delivery boy.”
“Romantic” makes a big comeback. Once again, more Filipinos look at romantic videos, compared to the rest of the world. A surprise entry to this shortlist is “Behind the Scenes,” hinting that Filipinos want to know what goes on behind the sets of their favorite scenes.

HYROX drew people from all over the world for a single purpose: finish the course. In Hong Kong, athletes showed up at AsiaWorld-Expo ready to run, row, and push through 8 stations of pure functional fitness.
So, we brought the Canon EOS R6 Mark III to capture one of the most demanding fitness races on the planet.
The Expo floor is a lighting nightmare, a mix of harsh overheads and deep shadows, but the 32.5MP sensor handled the contrast without breaking a sweat.
The 40fps electronic shutter and Pre-continuous shooting meant we were already capturing the moment half a second before we consciously decided to press the shutter.
Covering a race means staying mobile, and the 8.5-stop IBIS let us move freely alongside athletes without losing the shot. The Dual Pixel CMOS AF II stayed locked on athletes even when they were squinting through the final stretch.
What came out were stories of triumph and determination. Even when their bodies were screaming, they pushed through anyway.
This is what HYROX Hong Kong looked like from the inside.
