Samsung continues to make awesome smartphones with its Galaxy A series. The newest headliner to its midrange lineup comes in the form of the Samsung Galaxy A54 5G — the successor of the esteemed Galaxy A53 5G.

The Galaxy A54 comes with a new, familiar look. With a resemblance to the Samsung Galaxy S23 series, the new midranger aims to have a premium vibe and near-flagship performance at an accessible price. It now has a glossy, metallic glass back panel with a minimized camera housing.

Awesome screen

Upfront, it has a 6.4-inch FHD+ Infinity-O display with a Super AMOLED screen. It also uses a balanced 19.5:9 aspect ratio with a 120Hz refresh rate apt for social media scrolling.

With 1000 nits of brightness and a vision booster, it’s now easier to watch and scroll under direct sunlight.

Awesome camera

Samsung takes it up a notch when it comes to photography and videography, equipping the Galaxy A54 5G with a 50-megapixel OIS f/1.8 main camera. It’s supported by a 12-megapixel f/2.2 ultra-wide camera and a 5-megapixel macro f/2.4 lens.

Its selfie shooter, found on the punch-hole, houses a 32-megapixel f/2.2 lens.

Long-lasting battery life

With a better Exynos 1380 chipset, the Galaxy A54 5G delivers a 20% increase in CPU and a 26% increase in GPU. It also promises super-fast 5G connectivity and a 5000mAh battery capable of 25W fast charging.

The Galaxy A54 can get up to 50% battery on a 30-minute charge, and an 82-minute charging time for a fully-charged battery.

Awesome experience

True to its tagline, the Galaxy A54 delivers an awesome experience with more features Galaxy A is known for. From a design made with eco-friendly and recycled materials, on-point software and hardware security, a Dolby Atmos audio, and an IP67 rating for peace of mind.

It runs on One UI 5.1 and guarantees 4 times of OS updates and 5 years of security updates.

Price and availability

The Galaxy A54 5G starts at PhP 24,990 for the 128GB variant and PhP 26,990 for the 256GB variant. It comes in three colors: Awesome Lime, Awesome Black, and an online-exclusive Awesome Violet.

Ghost of Yotei gets a story expansion in October

The Complete Edition comes with the expansion and a roguelike mode.

Published

on

Ghost of Yotei is a classic RPG experience set in the same universe as its predecessor, Ghost of Tsushima. In my opinion, Atsu’s journey of revenge feels a lot more fun than Jin’s battle to save his homeland. If you’re in the same boat, Ghost of Yotei is coming back on October 1 with brand-new content.

Without delving too much into spoiler territory, Ghost of Yotei has a conclusive ending. Rather than shoehorning a forced epilogue, Echoes of Sekigahara, the title of the upcoming story expansion, explores Atsu’s past.

As with Tsushima’s expansion, Echoes of Sekigahara features a new map with new enemies, weapons, and collectibles. It will be set in two different time periods.

Besides the story expansion, the upcoming update also has a new mode called Most Wanted, which Sucker Punch Production describes as their “spin on a roguelike.” The mode explores Atsu’s experience as a headhunter, feeding her with bounties and earnable perks.

The two new content expansions will come with in the upcoming Ghost of Yotei Complete Edition. The new edition, coming on October 1, will also come with the co-op Legends mode. It also has a few perks and customization options. The edition will sell for US$ 70.

If you already have the base edition, you can grab an upgrade for only US$ 15. If you don’t want to pay for the upgrade, the game is still getting a few minor tweaks.
