It’s common knowledge that Android phones don’t always get the latest version from Google, especially when your device is heavily skinned like a Xiaomi. Good thing the Chinese company has published a listing of smartphones that’ll get Android Nougat.
The news comes from the Chinese website IT Home. They were able to get an announcement poster showing the list of 14 Xiaomi phones receiving either Android 7.0 or Android 7.1.
These are the devices due to have Android 7.0:
- Redmi 4X
- Redmi Note 4X
- Mi Max
- Mi Note 2
- Mi MIX
- Mi 4c
- Mi 4s
- Mi 5
- Mi 5s
- Mi 5s Plus
While these select few are getting the latest Android 7.1:
- Redmi 4X
- Mi Max 2
- Mi 5c
- Mi 6
The Xiaomi Redmi 4 and Redmi Note 4 are not included in the list, even though both were just released this year.
Although, if you’re familiar with MIUI, Xiaomi’s own version of the Android interface, you really can’t tell on the surface if you have Nougat due to the heavy customization. Nevertheless, this is good news for those who own the said handsets.
No details yet about the date of the rollout.
