How to find your artistic style using the ASUS VivoBook S14

Be bold and create freely

Published

on

Having your own artistic style can help launch your creative career. Whether you’re a budding designer, musician, content creator, or any type of creative, you’ll need to have a distinct voice —  so you stand out in a sea of exceptional artists.

But finding your style isn’t something you can do in one night; It’s an arduous journey of self-discovery and exploration. Luckily, we live in an age where we can equip ourselves with technology to aid us in our creative pursuits. Finding your style (and even yourself) is easier than ever!

Use the right machine

When I was younger, I never paid attention to the tools I used as an artist. All I care about is that my tools — laptops, tablets, phones — should work, not realizing that using the right resources can catapult my creative journey. That’s a mistake I regret and hope young artists wouldn’t follow through.

Admittedly, I don’t have the money to invest in high-end machines. Back then, we also had limited options on capable laptops that support our artistic journeys. They’re either expensive, bulky and come with boring designs.

Thankfully, laptops these days are powerful enough at a more affordable price, and they come in stylish, bold designs that complement your lifestyle. One example is the ASUS VivoBook S14.

The ASUS VivoBook S14 has been in the market for years, but it got a refresh to accompany the youth in navigating their vibrant years. This machine, through its exceptional features, can help you find and develop your style.

Know who you are

Finding your style entails searching and knowing yourself on another level. But before you start your journey to self-discovery, you have to remind yourself that no creator is completely original.

This is a common struggle among young artists, hoping to become the next star by having something “original”, not realizing that new ideas and styles are born from the fusion of two existing ideas.

When you let it sink in, you can easily find your style in a certain formula: soak up inspiration, sprout new ideas, then twist and shape it to your liking.

In my case, I watch animé where I reference their visuals — particularly the drawing style and color palette — and the emotionally-gratifying storytelling as an inspiration for my next piece.

With the VivoBook S14’s 14″ FHD NanoEdge Display and Wide Viewing Panel, it’s entertaining to indulge in artistic cinematography and vibrant visuals. You can delight in its striking, vivid colors on every film you’ll watch at any angle you’d like.

When you have enough inspiration, it’s time to combine your voice, technique, color choices, and composition. This will make it easy for you to find your style, develop it, or explore more.

You can do this at your own pace. Just don’t forget to be gentle to yourself. Keep in mind that our styles constantly evolve.

Practice, practice, practice

You won’t develop your style if all you do is think of these ideas and it remains in your head. Try to create as much as you can. Spending a few times a week can help you progress.

The ASUS VivoBook S14 is equipped with the right power to help you perform your creative challenges. You can run any software you’d like and enjoy a hiccup-free experience thanks to its beefy internals: 10th-gen Intel Core i5 processor, 8GB DDR4 RAM, 512GB HDD internal storage, WiFi-6 connectivity, Intel’s UHD Graphics, and NVIDIA’s GeForce MX350.

Additionally, it has a long-lasting battery which can help you create all-day. If you ever run out of juice, you can charge it quickly with its fast-charging up to 60 percent in less than an hour.

Don’t get stuck in one place

I’m telling you this literally and figuratively — don’t get stuck. If you feel stuck, you have the power to change anything that’s in your control. Take a breather and step outside.

Bring your laptop and inspiration with you. The ASUS VivoBook S14 is designed to be a portable machine, with a lightweight build — weighing 1.4kg — and design that makes it easy to grip and hold.

Celebrate yourself

Finding your style is a mere representation of your voice, personality, beliefs, and things that make you who you are. Stay true to your style by allowing your preferences to reflect in your everyday life. You can change your wardrobe, essentials, and even home decor to match a certain aesthetic.

Thankfully, the ASUS VivoBook S14 comes in different colors that reflect every personality. Of course, my preferred color is Dreamy White since I’m someone who dares to dream and constantly thinks of new ideas. Some would even say I daydream a lot!

I also own a lot of white — clothes, art materials, and other personal stuff — since this color represents my personality and attitude in life and in my designs: clean, minimalistic, classic, and sophisticated.

If you’re feeling funky, you can plaster it with stickers (like I used to do with my old laptop) and personalize it to your liking.

The ASUS VivoBook S14 comes with a set of stickers because they aren’t just a fashion statement or additional decor to your laptop — they’re a representation of sticking up to what you stand for in life. Now go find your style, create, and own your day.

Buyer’s Guide: Xiaomi Pad 8 Series

Do you need the base or the Pro?

Published

on

Choosing between the Xiaomi Pad 8 and the Xiaomi Pad 8 Pro feels like picking between a “sweet treat” and a “full-course meal.”

It’s deciding between a reliable travel companion and a specialized workstation. Both tablets rock a slim 5.8mm profile and a manageable 485-gram weight, and a 9200mAh battery.

However, under the hood, they are playing in different leagues. Especially since the “Pro” moniker adds serious muscle to the internals, and a solution for that glossy screen distraction.

Specs at a glance

Product Xiaomi Pad 8 Xiaomi Pad 8 Pro
Processor Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 (4nm) Snapdragon 8 Elite (3nm)
Display 11.2″ 3.2K IPS LCD (144Hz) 11.2″ 3.2K IPS LCD (144Hz)
Surface Ultra-Glossy Glass Optional Matte Nano-Texture
Storage/RAM Up to 12GB LPDDR5X / 256GB Up to 16GB LPDDR5T / 512GB
Rear Camera 13MP 50MP
Front Camera 8MP 32MP
Charging 45W Turbo Charge 67W HyperCharge
Pricing Starts at PhP 20,999 Starts at PhP 38,999

Why you should pick the Xiaomi Pad 8

The standard Pad 8 is that “Goldilocks” device, hitting that sweet spot between price and premium hardware.

It’s ideal if your tablet usage is centered on media consumption and light productivity. Since it shares the same 11.2-inch screen size as the Pro, it fits perfectly on an airplane tray table, making it a dream for frequent flyers.

The Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 is no slouch; it still runs titles like Racing Master at 60fps on Ultra-High settings. If you’re a fan of XG or KiiiKiii, you’ll appreciate the quad-speaker setup and Hi-Res Audio support without needing to pay the “Pro” tax.

It’s the smart choice for those who want a capable second screen to complement their main laptop.

Why you should level up to the Xiaomi Pad 8 Pro

The “Pro” is for those who found the standard model’s limitations — like the glossy screen reflections or the 128GB storage ceiling — to be a dealbreaker.

The biggest upgrade is the Snapdragon 8 Elite, a powerhouse chip that turns the tablet into a legitimate workstation for video editing in CapCut or heavy multitasking in HyperOS 3.0.

Beyond power, the Pro version offers a Matte Glass Edition, which completely solves the “reflection” issue that can ruin your movie sessions or drawing time under bright lights.

You also get significantly better cameras, such as a 32-megapixel front sensor for professional-looking video calls. There’s also a 50-megapixel rear camera for high-res document scanning.

Finally, the 67W HyperCharge means you spend less time tethered to a wall and more time being productive.

Which Xiaomi Pad is your GadgetMatch?

Swipe Right on the Xiaomi Pad 8 if you want the best value for your money.

It’s thin, light, and powerful enough for 90% of users. It handles gaming, writing, and music playback with ease, making it a worthy recipient of a seal of approval for anyone on a budget.

Just be sure to skip the 128GB entry model and go for the 256GB version to ensure you get those faster storage speeds.

Swipe Right on the Xiaomi Pad 8 Pro if you are a “power user” who hates screen glare. If you plan to use the Focus Pen Pro for serious creative work or need 512GB of space for a massive game library, the Pro is worth the extra investment.

It’s a high-speed machine that charges faster, captures better photos, and runs every app with flagship-level fluidness.

The Xiaomi Pad 8 starts at PhP 20,999 with Normal Keyboard while the Xiaomi Pad 8 Pro starts at PhP 38,999 with Touch Keyboard. Both tablets come with free Focus Pen Pro.

Stepping into MSI’s 40th year anniversary exhibition space felt less like exploring a traditional tech pavilion and more like embarking on a time-travel expedition.

From the nostalgic, raw engineering of 1986 legacy motherboards to the breathtaking, AI-driven flagships and starry-night inspired laptops of tomorrow, four decades of continuous craftsmanship were brought to life under the watchful eye of the iconic dragon motif.

This photo journal captures that vibrant atmosphere. It’s a visual walk through the heritage and the sheer hardware artistry that defined MSI’s historic celebration in Taiwan.
