Ducky Zero 6108: A throwback keyboard for the modern user

Portable, versatile performer

Published

Remember 2000s Cyber Cafe PC gaming culture? Intense atmospheres, loud and disruptive players, and of course, those equally noisy and clunky keyboards with occasional desk smashing to let one’s emotion off. That’s an era that has defined an entire generation of gamers, particularly in Eastern Asia.

That also happens to be the first thing we remember upon trying out the Ducky Zero 6108 full-size mechanical keyboard. It’s a throwback to that picture, with several enhancements to suit the modern PC setup.

Ducky’s innovative offering comes with German-made Cherry MX2A switches, 85% high-density PBT doubleshot keycaps, and RGB backlighting. It’s built for work and play, with a design that is both simplistically stylish and durable.

Ducky Zero 6108

The best way to describe the Zero 6108 is it’s a compelling entry point for those who want customized PC setups, but don’t know how to actually begin. Think of it as a “pre-made” custom keyboard that still gives you freedom to tailor fit it to your liking.

Versatile performer

Designed for both work and play, the Zero 6108 sports a portable compact design. There isn’t much space in between keys. Your fingers will travel relatively easily in between for either typing or gaming controls.

This versatile design, along with its 1.2-kilogram weight, makes the keyboard a great option for those considering portability. Design wise, the keyboard comes in either white or black. A stylish add-on is the dragon art on the space bar.

Do you like Dragons?

Another factor that makes the Zero 6108 something you’ll be fine carrying with you wherever? You can connect the keyboard in three ways. You may opt for a USB connection, a 2.4GHz wireless, or through Bluetooth.

The only downside when connecting wirelessly is its battery life. This keyboard is equipped with a 2,500mAh battery. In our experience, it drained after about 10 to 12 hours of usage.

Tactile feel

Ducky Zero 6108

Furthermore, the Zero 6108’s combination of Cherry switches and PBT keycaps makes for tactile, bumpy-yet-precise feedback. You will kind of need more actuation force to press the keys down. But that’s sort of the purpose of the durable keycaps to begin with. They’re meant to be durable and resist wear and tear of everyday use.

If you want an idea as to how it sounds, the keyboard produces a more robust and solid sound rather than the ASMR video, chilling-in-a-coffee-shop-for-remote-work kind of sound. That’s where the absence of a foam underneath could be felt (or heard). Nevertheless, it takes just some time to getting used to. Once you’ve be accustomed to this keyboard, it wouldn’t bother you one bit.

Room for customization

And since this keyboard offers customization, you may easily hot-swap the switches for another set that suits your style. For instance, if you’re going to use it only for typing needs, then a 3-pin switch would be sufficient for more fluid typing.

Lastly, the RGB backlight may also be adjusted to your liking. You may tinker with the brightness, speed, and color settings, so it illuminates in the way you want it to.

Throwback keyboard

Overall, the Ducky Zero 6108 is a versatile, portable, and convenient mechanical keyboard. It feels like a throwback, as mentioned, peppered with enhancements for the modern times. But in the end, it retains its core of being a simplistic keyboard that delivers what you need. Globally, it retails at just around US$ 99, so it is a compelling option that won’t break your wallet either.

Bringing Care-a-Lot to my daily carry

This is why my gizmos and workspace finally feel like a warm hug!

Growing up, the Care Bears taught us that sharing was a superpower and that every emotion had a color.

For many of us, the Care Bears weren’t just characters on a screen; they represented a language of kindness and colorful dreams.

Bringing the CASETiFY x Care Bears collection into my daily rotation feels like carrying a small piece of that “Care-a-Lot” magic wherever I go.

My iPhone 16 Pro now lives in the Care Bears Shake Shake Case (PhP 3,990). It’s a tactile reminder of playfulness in the middle of a busy workday.

When I’m heading out, the Share Bear Earbuds Pouch (PhP 2,990) clips onto my bag. It keeps my music close while reminding me of the value of sharing. It’s surprisingly versatile, too, fitting my Shokz OpenFit 2+ or even the bulkier case of the JBL Sense Pro.

When I switch to a different MagSafe case, the Starry Night Snappy Cardholder Stand (PhP 2,490) magnetically attaches to the back of my phone, adding a bit of celestial whimsy to my day

Even my workspace has a new glow. The Twilight Dreams Laptop Sleeve (PhP 3,090) fits my 13-inch MacBook perfectly, wrapping my most important work tool in nostalgic, soft-toned illustrations.

We often look for tech that performs, but we rarely look for accessories that hugs back. This collection does both.

It turns my everyday essentials into a canvas for positivity, proving that even in a digital world, there’s always room for a little more care.
