Samsung Galaxy C7 Pro is a smaller, cheaper Galaxy C9 Pro
After cramming 6GB of RAM into the Galaxy C9 Pro, Samsung decided to take it easy this time and launch a more compact and affordable 4GB RAM-equipped Galaxy C7 Pro. It’s pretty good, too.
Built around a 5.7-inch Full HD AMOLED display and Qualcomm’s super-efficient Snapdragon 625 processor, the C7 Pro is one of Samsung’s more sensible midrange smartphones, opting for balance over overwhelming specs.
Here’s what else you’re getting: 16-megapixel cameras on both sides, internal storage of 64GB with microSD expansion, and a decent 3300mAh battery which you can’t replace yourself. The only sore spot is the inclusion of Android 6.0 Marshmallow, instead of the newer Android 7.0 Nougat.
To make up for the losses, Samsung included its Always On and Samsung Pay features, which were once reserved for the more premium Galaxy handsets.
If you’re wondering how the midrange Galaxy C series differs from the similarly priced Galaxy A series, the former makes use of all-metal builds, while the latter prefers sandwiching a metal frame between two Gorilla Glass sheets.
Although no pricing has been revealed yet, we can assume the Galaxy C7 Pro will cost significantly less than its bigger $470 sibling. Pre-orders begin on January 16 in China; colors include pink, blue, and gold.
