New iPad Pro comes with the M2 chip
Can now shoot ProRes
While Apple was upgrading the original iPad lineup, the company also unleashed a massive upgrade to the premium iPad Pro series. Last year, the advanced tablet lineup started taking on the Mac lineup. Now, the new iPad Pro is making another case for an all-in-one premium device for productivity.
Under the hood, the new tablet features the top-of-the-line M2 chipset. With 15 percent faster performance than the previous generation, the iPad Pro can handle a lot of load including machine-learning tasks. Likewise, because of the chipset’s performance, the tablet can now shoot ProRes video and render the same by up to 3 times faster.
Improving the Apple Pencil’s capabilities, the iPad Pro supports a new hover feature for stylus users. The display can now detect the Pencil from up to 12 millimeters away. Using the feature, users can improve accuracy before even committing to the screen.
As for connectivity, the tablet supports connections of up to Wi-Fi 6E networks. It also supports 5G connections. Out of the box, it comes preinstalled with the new iPadOS 16, offering features like Stage Manager and external display support.
Coming in silver and space grey, the new iPad Pro offers 128GB, 256GB, 512GB, 1TB, and 2TB configuration. It will start popping up in stores starting October 28. It starts at SGD 1,249.
