EQUA smart bottle will glow when you need to drink

Always hydrate!

Published

on

An easy way to keep yourself healthy is to make sure you’re hydrated. However, this is easier said than done. It’s pretty normal to forget to drink water throughout a busy day — I know I’ve done this one too many times.

I’ve learned that it does help to have an app remind you of your water intake, but EQUA takes it a step further with their smart water bottles.

This might look like a normal water bottle, but believe me, it does a lot more. The EQUA bottle glows to remind you to take a sip of water.

It also connects to your phone and the EQUA app via Bluetooth so you won’t have to input your drinking habits — it just knows! 👌🏽

Not only that, it tracks and calculates how much more water you need to drink throughout the day.

Even without your phone, you can just tap the side of the water bottle to find out if you’re on track for the day’s water quota. A quick glow means you need to catch up, while a longer glow means you’re all good and are on track.

No need to fuss about charging, either! The bottle is designed to work for as long as around six months, and then you can just replace the batteries. It’s also dishwasher-safe (just take out the cap and the tracker) so you’ll never have to worry about cleaning up.

It comes in a beautiful rose hue, like pictured above. But for those who aren’t such a big fan of pink, it also comes in a clean, crisp white.

There’s a classic black bottle that looks more neutral for men who’d want to rock these bottles.

They also have spill-proof marble or stone covers that make them look even more unique.

Aside from looking good, each 680ml bottle is double-insulated, which means it’ll keep your cold beverages cold, and your hot drinks hot. It starts shipping out in September of this year and each one comes with a one-year warranty.

This is a notebook that will charge your phone because why not

One good-looking and useful planner!

The good old notebook is being given an update.

If you’re still sentimental about stationery, or if you’re the pen and paper type of gal and you still can’t shake your organizer habits, this folio might be right up your alley.

The Tesmo notebook is a good-looking journal. The outside is bound by a durable leather material, there are slots for your pen, cards, and notes, plus you can easily refill the pages with standard A5-sized paper. What’s so different about this organizer then?

Place your phone on the notebook and you’ll find out. This organizer doubles as a wireless charger. Basically, it will charge any Qi charging-capable device — that means your iPhone X and most Android flagships — without even plugging in the phone.

With an 8000mAh battery capacity stored away in its cover, this notebook also allows simultaneous charging of up to three devices. It’s equipped with all the ports you’ll ever need: micro-USB, USB-C, and Lightning adapter.

It’s the journal that every career woman needs — well, okay, not exactly need. It would be cool, though. And, it’s honestly one profesh-looking planner. It comes in gray, black, and brown (pictured).

Samsung Galaxy Note 9 accessories for every mood

Take your pick!

Published

on

The Galaxy Note 9 has just been announced and you’re convinced you need one. You’re definitely getting it once they’re available and you can’t be happier. What now?

Well, time for some phone outfits! Er, you know, phone cases. 😅

Thankfully, Samsung has also released a slew of accessories for their newest flagship. Take your pick!

Flashy and sophisticated

When to use: For days when you’re feeling extra

Samsung’s signature cover has always looked good…

… and now, there’s a Clear View Standing cover for the new Note. It’s so shiny!

You can check notifications on your phone without even opening the cover and control stuff from the side of the case.

In some regions, there’s also a lavender version of this case and it looks as amazing as the rest of these.

By the way, did I mention that these cases also double as stands? Yep, awesome.

A rugged solution

When to use: On hikes, beach trips, or random adventures; or for use when you’re inherently a klutz

Are you all about protecting your phone? Are you just plain clumsy?

This Protective Standing Cover may be for you.

They’ve been tested and given a military rating so this means your precious Note is all protected — believe me, I’ve seen this case smashed in front of my face and it survived. 😅

There’s also a tiny stand, which snaps out easily so it won’t ever break. Perfect for comfortably watching stuff on your phone anytime, anywhere.

Even with the case on, you can still do wireless charging! And, I’m going to say it: Reminiscent of Rimowa luggage solutions, these cases make quite an impression.

Au naturelle with a twist

When to use: On lazy days when you’re keeping it real

This is the Note 9’s “just got out of bed look.”

A barely there case that will make sure your phone is protected.

Simple but detailed

When to use: Everyday office look as part of your power dressing

This good-looking case adds a touch of detail to your wardrobe. It’s all in the texture!

This is Samsung’s LED view cover. Of course, you’ll be able to see notifications through the case.

Not only is it pretty, it’s also pretty functional. There’s a card holder, too.

You can control the phone with shortcuts even without opening the case.

There’s also a violet version available in some regions.

Fun and cutesy

When to use: For everyday gallivanting in the metro; the best accessory for casual #OOTDs

Samsung’s version of the silicone case with a colorful twist — an easy cover that adds protection and character to your phone.

It comes in black, blue, white, and violet.

Classic-looking and comfortable

When to use: You’re feeling timeless

For the leather lovers, Samsung has something for you, too.

Their Leather Wallet Cover is made of genuine Italian calf leather.

It has an inner lining which protects your phone and a useful pocket that keeps cards.

There’s also a red one (in some regions) if you want to sass it up.

Bonus: Since I’m on a roll, I didn’t want to stop at cases. Here are some more Note 9 accessories you might find useful.

Wireless Charging Pad

When to use: You’re living your best life and traveling everywhere

This multi-function charging pad will not only charge your Note 9, it will also power up your Galaxy Watch.

Wireless Charger Duo

When to use: For your everyday life because it’s the most efficient thing

Charge your phone and Galaxy Watch wirelessly, and at the same time!

HDMI to USB-C Cable/Adapter

When to use: You’re doing a presentation at work or Netflix and chilling

No need for docks! Project whatever’s on your Note 9 on a bigger monitor with just a cord.

Enjoy your Note 9! 😉

7 home workouts you don’t need a gym membership for

Stay home, get fit — it’s a win-win

Published

on

Finding the right gym is tough. Many things factor in: distance, traffic, exercise crowd, costs, exercise specialties, available equipment — my concerns could go on. But, these shouldn’t stop you from exercising! (Girl, they’re not valid reasons to slack off and you know it!)

What if I told you that it’s possible to get a good workout, even in the comfort of your own home? Yep, it’s possible.

Whether it be a lazy day, or just because you’re not into working out in public, here are some moves to get you going. All for a healthier you!

Home HIIT

What you’ll need: An interval timer app and the resolve to push yourself to the limit during high intervals

Simply put, High-Intensity Interval Training is a method of working out that calls for intervals of rest and high energy which allow for effective exercise. Don’t believe me? Here’s a quick explanation:

That being said, you can actually design your own work out based on your preferences, so long as you exert enough effort during the high interval period.

Personally, I go for full fifteen minutes of home HIIT sessions with one-minute high-intensity activities and 50-second rest intervals. I usually do a combination of high knees, jumping jacks, and jump squats to get my heart going. Every now and then, I just change it around to keep myself from getting bored. Of course, you can’t expect me to time while I’m exerting so much physical effort, so I always have the Interval Timer app (Android, iOS) and my workout playlist going every time I do this.

Resistance band training

What you’ll need: Resistance bands and the whole world as your playground (or yeah, your house).

Think giant rubber bands you stretch and pull around to get your heart going. You use the bands as resistance for each movement which eliminates the need for weights or big gym machinery. It may sound simple enough but it’s real exercise, I swear!

Of all the workouts I’ve tried, I found resistance bands to be the most convenient. Not only are they cheap and easy to use, you can also bring them anywhere without a fuss (ideal for people who travel a lot, too). You can buy a variety of types and colors online. I got mine off Amazon for around US$ 10 — a legitimately small price to pay for fitness!

If you have no idea how these bands work, I gotchu:

More good news is that most resistant band brands also offer guides and videos. For example, Fit Simply has a curated list of moves you can do here. Another brand, Belus Active (which are bands that come in pink!), has a roster of personal trainers with exercise demos here and their Instagram account is updated with more mini-workouts you can do with their bands.

Speaking of Instagram…

Self-curated Instagram exercise routine

What you’ll need: A lot of random Instagram browsing time and will power to actually do the exercises

So let me tell you something you probably already know: There are a lot of fitness people on IG. That’s actually a great thing! There are so many mini-workout posts and all you need to do is try them.

When mindlessly browsing through Instagram (yes, I know you do this, too), keep an eye out for these mini-workout posts. When you see one you’d like to try, save it in a special “Workout” Instagram folder and just go back to it later on.

Just one of my workout folders

It helps to follow certain Fitness IG people. My personal favorites are @shona_vertue, @carlyrowena, @stef_fit, and @kayla_itsines. Following hashtags like #homeexercises or #homeworkout also give you more options.

Home Zumba

What you’ll need: Loud speakers on your phone or computer and a lot of dancing attitude

For those who have moves, Zumba is the way to go. This fitness routine burns a lot of calories without you even noticing. A combination of aerobics and Latin dance, this is definitely a fun way to get your blood pumping without even realizing you’re putting in effort to exercise.

Zumba itself has a number of routines online that you can learn. Time to get dancing!

Exercise app workout

What you’ll need: Chosen exercise app and the patience to find the workout sessions you want to try

These days, there are a number of great apps that can guide you through different workouts. From variation HIIT exercises and body weight exercises to weight training, there’s an app for that! My favorite one remains to be Nike+ Training Club. It not only gives a number of different exercise sets for varying fitness levels, it also walks you through each routine. Workouts are classified by specific fitness goals to make it easier for you to find your routine of preference.

Other notable free apps to check out are Workout for Women, Swortkit, and Johnson & Johnson 7 Minute Workout.

Wearables’ built-in workouts

What you’ll need: A snazzy fitness wearable that has this function

These days, even sports watches have full exercise programs built in, and all you need to do is wear the thing, start the program, and do what it tells you.

Exercise coaching on the Fitbit Ionic

Even if you’re clueless, these wearables will show you how to do each movement on their tiny screens; some would even vibrate to signal the end of an exercise. It’s literally a training coach on your wrist! Watches like the Samsung Gear Sport, Fitbit Ionic, and Fitbit Versa are equipped with this function.

Home Yoga

What you’ll need: A yoga mat, yoga pants, and YouTube

Aside from being meditative, Yoga is a great workout for those who prefer something more calming and less high energy. Not only does it improve muscle strength, flexibility (which is great for people with scoliosis, like me), and balance, it’s even proven to decrease stress.

There are tons of videos online that walk you through a session; all you really need is to follow along. Here’s one for newbies like me:

If you want more control over your Yoga practice, you can download any of these free apps, depending on what suits your needs: Simply Yoga, Yoga Studio, Fitstar Yoga, or Daily Yoga.
