Facebook is killing their old design in September

Published

on

In case you haven’t noticed, Facebook rolled out a substantial design update some time ago. Despite the huge push for change, the popular social media network still allowed users to keep the old design. The opt-out option satisfied users who found the new design clunky and unnecessary. Unfortunately, the optional trial period is ending. Facebook is killing their old design in September.

Right now, Facebook users can still switch to the Classic Facebook design through the top-right drop-down menu. However, the option now displays a clear warning. “The classic Facebook will no longer be available starting in September,” it reads. The same warning is also on the design’s support page.

Though the original already went through a number of iterations, the Classic Facebook design includes the iconic blue theme known to most Facebook users today.

In contrast, the new design liberally uses negative space in a much more open white (or dark) design. Further, Facebook Stories and the Messenger list is more prominent in the new design.

Though the warning does not indicate a specific date, Facebook will definitively end the old design by next month. At least for desktop users, the platform will come in only one design option. (Or two, if you count the different between normal and dark modes.)

If you haven’t yet, it’s time to get used to the new layout. Likewise, it’s easy to expect an incoming barrage of design complaints in the next few weeks.

The Pulse 3D Wireless Headset now sports Midnight Black

Nicely paired with the DualSense controller and your “Midnight Black” PS5

Pulse 3D Wireless

Back in June, Sony announced two additional colorways for its next-generation DualSense controller. Apart from the classic white, the PlayStation 5’s newest controller also received a Midnight Black and Cosmic Red. This time around, they’ve extended the invitation to another PS5 peripheral, the Pulse 3D Wireless Headset.

Much like the DualSense controller, the headset will also come in Midnight Black. Other than this, everything else is pretty much the same for the Pulse 3D Headset. In essence, it still gives you deeper, more immersive 3D sounds to games that fully take advantage of this. It’s just that now, you have other color options to choose from. Whether or not this also comes in Cosmic Red, Sony has yet to announce that.

It’s worth noting that included in the PS5’s second major update is an equalizer for the 3D Pulse. It adds another layer of control for players. This lets them enjoy the game precisely the way they want to. But if tweaking isn’t your thing, there are also three presets: Standard, Bass Boost, or Shooter.

The Pulse 3D Wireless Headset in Midnight Black will be available on October 29 for PhP 5,590/ SG$ 149 / MYR 469/ DR1,699,000 / THB3,490 / VND2,699,000.
