The foldables aren’t the only ones announced at Samsung Unpacked. We were also treated to a pair of smartwatches and a new TWS earphone. These are the Galaxy Watch5, Galaxy Watch5 Pro, and Galaxy Buds2 Pro.

Galaxy Watch5

The Galaxy Watch5 is all about helping Galaxy users be in their best shape possible.

This includes equipping the watch with a host of health monitoring features. Most prominently, there’s the BioActive Sensor. Essentially, it’s one chip that enables three other sensors which are the Optical Heart Rate, Electrical Heart Signal, and Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis.

Too much to take in? Just think of it as a new tech that enables the Galaxy Watch5 to perform its function of getting you healthy. That’s through Samsung’s Holistic Health approach.

You can record your Body Composition and the Watch5 will help tailor workouts that work well to achieving your fitness goals. But it goes beyond workouts. It also has suggestions for your post-workout, rest, and recovery process. Like an actual trainer, but on your wrist.

There’s also the other usual smartwatch functions like Sleep tracking, getting your notifications and what not. It also comes with a 13 percent larger battery.

The display is made of Sapphire Crystal which Samsung swears is tougher than most other materials used on other smartwatches.

The Galaxy Watch5 comes in different sizes and colors with the following pricing:

40mmGalaxy Watch5  (Graphite, Pink Gold, Silver )

  • LTE – PHP 19,990
  • Bluetooth – PHP 16,990

44mmGalaxy Watch5 (Graphite, Sapphire, Silver)

  • LTE – PHP 21,990
  • Bluetooth – PHP 18,990

Galaxy Watch5 Pro

The Galaxy Watch5 Pro is everything the Galaxy Watch5 is but made for the outdoor enthusiasts. It’s made more durable and has extra features to support hiking, cycling and more.

Build-wise it’s also made of Sapphire Crystal but enhanced. It has a titanium casing that protects the display. You also get a D-Buckle Sports Band made for rugged durability.

For outdoor activities, it has GPX making tracking easy. As you hike or cycle, it’ll help you navigate turn-by-turn so you can keep your eyes on the path. And when you’re ready to head back, there’s a Track back feature that traces your starting point. Great for those challenged with directions.

The Galaxy Watch5 Pro comes in 45mm in either Black Titanium or Gray Titanium.

Pricing are as follows:

Galaxy Watch5 Pro 45mm

  • LTE – PHP 26,990
  • Bluetooth – PHP 29,990

Buds2 Pro

It’s easy to dismiss this as just a tacked-on offering but Samsung did make significant upgrades to their new headliner earbuds.

The Galaxy Buds2 Pro now supports Hi-Fi 24bit Audio. This offers high-dynamic range and a crystal-clear audio resolution. Naturally, there’s also ANC or Active Noise Cancellation which is also enabled in calls for a clearer call conversation.

If you own a Samsung TV or other Samsung devices, the Buds2 Pro can seamlessly switch between them if necessary.

Form-wise, the Galaxy Buds2 Pro is 15 percent smaller than its predecessor. To some people, that could mean it’s easier to misplace. In case that happens, they should be easy to locate using SmartThings Find now.

It has an IPX7 rating which means it should be okay to take on workouts, except if your workout is swimming.

The Galaxy Buds2 Pro retails for PHP 12,990.

Customers can pre-order the Galaxy Buds2 Pro starting August 11 to September 1, 2022 through samsung.com, Samsung Experience Stores, and Authorized Samsung Stores.

Pre-order bonus is either of the following:

  • PHP 1,500 Token for Samsung mobile products
  • 50% off on Galaxy Buds2 Pro and 30% off on Galaxy Watch5 Series when they purchase the Galaxy Z Fold4 or Z Flip4.

It will be available starting September 2, 2022 in Samsung.com, Samsung Experience Stores, select Authorized Samsung Stores, Lazada, Shopee, Abenson.com and MemoXpress Online in Bora Purple, Graphite and White.

AGON by AOC has released the new AGON Pro AGP277QK dual-mode gaming monitor for the competitive segment.

This new offering features up to 1000Hz refresh rate at HD and 540Hz at QHD so gamers have the flexibility to prioritize either clarity or speed.

The 27-inch IPS gaming monitor comes with NVIDIA G-SYNC, synchronizing the monitor’s refresh rate with the GPU to help minimize screen tearing, stuttering, and input lag.

Right after the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max series, Apple dropped another bombshell for fans. Complementing the latest iPhone generation, the new AirPods 5 features a bunch of the most impressive improvements for the wearable.

Most importantly, the AirPods 5 will boast 50 percent better noise cancellation than the AirPods 4 with Active Noise Cancellation. With Adaptive Audio, the wearable can sense your surroundings and adapt accordingly so you don’t miss the important bits happening around you.

It also features Live Translation for talking with others speaking in a different language. Plus, Conversation Awareness automatically lowers the volume if the wearable detects that you’re talking.

For sound quality, the new wearable has a new acoustic architecture and an adaptive equalizer. It promises more detailed sound coming from the entry-level AirPods.

The new AirPods 5 will start at US$ 129. Preorders are already open, but the wearable will ship out on September 18.

Meanwhile, if you’re hankering for a bit more from your wearable, another variant, which starts at US$ 149, adds a Wireless Charging Case, on-stem swipe controls, and longer battery life. This model can reportedly last five more hours with active noise cancellation enable.
