Marvel vs Capcom Fighting Collection physical edition out now
For Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4
The physical edition of Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics is now available for Nintendo Switch and PlayStation. The collection will also get a physical release for Xbox One consoles in 2025.
In addition, all physical copies of the collection will also come with a newly-created 32-page comic featuring some of the most beloved Capcom characters and Marvel Super Heroes.
The special gift is to thank players for their unwavering support for the video game franchise.
First announced at Nintendo Direct June 2024, the collection is headlined by one of the greatest fighting games ever made: Marvel vs Capcom 2.
It also includes the following titles:
- X-Men: Children of the Atom
- Marvel Superheroes
- X-Men vs Street Fighter
- Marvel Superheroes vs Street Fighter
- Marvel vs Capcom
- The Punisher
The last one listed is the first-ever collaboration game between Capcom and Marvel.
And as mentioned earlier, the Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics comes packed with enhancements and upgrades.
Online ranked, casual, and custom matches are available for all six fighting games. Online matches are also supported with rollback netcode for the most stable gameplay experience. This means you can play head-to-head against anyone in the world via online multiplayer.
For competitive players, there is a global high-score leaderboard across all seven titles to show your skills. And vice-versa, for newbies, there is a Training Mode included for all six fighting games so you can try a new one or master your favorite character.
Additionally, the collection is a treasure trove for fans of the classic games. There is an immersive music jukebox to lock in with. There’s also an in-game Museum for a trip down memory lane. Moreover, original Marquee Cards from all titles are available.
Lastly, players can save the game in single-player mode, display filters to emulate older television, and arcade screen, and so much more options.
The trifecta is complete. Almost a year after announcing their new hardware, Valve has finally unveiled the price tag of the Steam Frame, complementing the Steam Machine and Steam Controller revealed a few months ago.
Whereas the Steam Machine is a console of its own, the Steam Frame is a traditional VR headset with a pair of controllers for both hands. Unfortunately, despite being in a different segment, the headset is not immune to the rising prices of technology. The Steam Frame will start at US$ 1,059 for a 256GB model and can go up to US$ 1,299 for the 1TB model. On the plus side, each box will come Half-Life: Alyx packaged along with the headset.
Here’s a more detailed rundown of what you’re getting. The Steam Frame will ship with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, paired with 16GB of RAM. Each eye comes with a 2160 x 2160 LCD screen, putting out images at up t0 a 144Hz experimental refresh rate. As mentioned above, the headset will start with 256GB of storage but can go up to 2TB. It will come packaged with SteamOS 3 and a rechargeable 21.6Wh battery.
This might be a hard buy for some. The industry currently has more affordable options, for one. Also, virtual reality isn’t the most thriving segment of gaming today.
If you’re still decided on buying one, however, Valve is using its lottery system. Interested customers can sign up from now until September 17. The company will then randomize the purchasing order. Those who draw the first ones in the lottery can get a purchase email as soon as September 18. Meanwhile, anyone who registers after September 17 will automatically be put at the back of the queue.
