OnePlus has a significant fan-following in India and the brand has successfully developed a devoted community. While launch events are usually reserved for the media to interact and cover the company’s offerings, OnePlus always lets its followers experience the unveiling live and passes are sold out within minutes.

The company has slowly forayed into the premium segment and intends to establish a brand name. OnePlus is hosting a music festival on November 16 in Mumbai and it’ll be headlined by pop stars Katy Perry and Dua Lipa.

Apart from Katy Perry and Dua Lipa, fans will be able to groove to the rhythm of diverse musical minds like Amit Trivedi, Ritviz, The Local Train and Aswekeepsearching.

More acts part of the music festival

Amit Trivedi has composed numerous hits for movies like Dev.D, Udta Punjab, and Queen. He is a familiar draw for those aware of mainstream Bollywood music. The Local Train is a rock band popularly known for their singles like “Aaoge tum kabhi” and “Choo lo”.

This is the first time OnePlus is hosting a music festival in the country. Previously at the OnePlus 6T launch event in Mumbai, the brand had artists like Brodha V and DJ Ishani performing live.

“We are super excited that Katy Perry will be starring in our first-ever OnePlus Music Festival in India! We decided to host this festival to share our passion for music with our community, who are at the heart of everything we do. With Katy on board, this is sure to be a one of a kind experience,” said Carl Pei, Co-Founder, OnePlus.

Tickets for the concert are on sale now via Paytm Insider. The price starts at INR 2,000 and OnePlus users can avail 10 percent cashback after authenticating their phone’s IMEI number.

The Witcher is getting an anime film on Netflix!

To be created by the animators of Legend of Korra

Netflix is on a roll lately! For the past week, the streaming service has consistently announced new titles that everyone has been clamoring for. Soon, we’re getting the Studio Ghibli collection and the very first Pokémon film remastered in CGI.

Today, Netflix has announced a quick follow-up to last year’s most iconic debuting show, The Witcher. In partnership with the renowned animators at Studio Mir, The Witcher showrunner Lauren Hissrich will return to the world of the series in a new anime film.

According to an official statement from Netflix, The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf will deal with “a new threat facing the Continent.” However, Hissrich has not confirmed who will star in the new film yet. From a tweet, the showrunner has kept the anime film a secret for over a year now. Presumably, the film will follow the events of the original series. At the very least, it should belong in the same universe.

Likewise, neither Netflix or Hissrich has confirmed the film’s premiere date.

On the production side, partnering animators Studio Mir created the acclaimed Legend of Korra in the past. The studio has also helmed the Netflix original, Voltron: Legendary Defender.

The Witcher follows the adventures of Geralt (Henry Cavill), a superhuman hunter, in a world fraught with monsters and sorcerers. Following its premier late last year, The Witcher quickly ascended the ranks as one of the most watched series on Netflix.

Netflix will premiere the very first Pokémon movie

But remastered in CGI

Published

on

Recently, Studio Ghibli has announced its arrival on Netflix. For the first time, Netflix viewers can finally watch their childhood favorites on the streaming service. In a strange bout of luck, Studio Ghibli isn’t the only childhood hero coming to Netflix.

Announced recently, Netflix will bring the very first Pokémon movie to its platform. Originally titled as Pokémon the Movie: Mewtwo Strikes Back, the 1998 film features Ash Ketchum and his beloved Pikachu going against a furious Mewtwo, the strongest Pokémon at the time.

Last year, the original filmmakers announced a remastered version of the original movie. Now dubbed as Mewtwo Strikes Back: EVOLUTION, the film reimagines the same story completely in CGI. The new graphics bring out the world of Pokémon not unlike the efforts of last year’s Detective Pikachu. However, instead of realistic fur and skin, the remastered edition will return to its smoothly rendered roots.

It is this version that Netflix is launching worldwide on February 27, 2020. The date is, of course, no coincidence, especially to the Pokémon fan. February 27 is globally known as Pokémon Day. This is also the first Pokémon movie to premiere on a streaming service immediately.

Currently, Netflix already has a handful of Pokémon content on its service including the current Pokémon Sun and Moon series of shows and films. The platform also has the original first season of the main series, Pokémon: Indigo League.
