After several forays in different industries, which one hasn’t Razer touched? Over the past few years, the gaming peripherals brand has released products in lifestyle, automotive, and even facemask markets. This CES 2022, the company launched a follow-up to the Zephyr mask, the Zephyr Pro. Apparently, Razer isn’t done this month. The company has also announced a partnership with Fossil for the Razer X Fossil Gen 6 smartwatch.
Much like Fossil’s usual tray of smartwatches, the Razer X Fossil Gen 6 has the iconic triple-crown layout. The watch has a 44mm stainless steel case and a 1.28-inch 326ppi touchscreen display.
You might have already guessed what turns this into a Razer watch. The straps come in either black or Razer’s iconic green. There are also three exclusive watch faces inspired by Razer: Analog, Text, or Chroma.
Underneath, the smartwatch is the first device to come with Snapdragon Wear 4100+. It will have 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage. Supplemented by Wear OS, the watch can supposedly perform up to 30 percent better than the Fossil Gen 5. With Razer’s Champions Start from Within initiative, users can focus on both gaming and wellness while using the watch.
For health tracking, the smartwatch has an improved heart rate sensor and a new SpO2 sensor. Users can also track the quality of their sleep.
The battery can reportedly charge up to 80 percent in just 30 minutes of charging.
The Razer X Fossil Gen 6 smartwatch will start selling this month for US$ 329 through Fossil’s online store, Razer’s online store, or select retailers. Only 1,337 will be produced.
Apple releases two new Apple Watch Pride Edition bands
For Pride Month 2022
Show off your colors. June is once again Pride Month. To celebrate the occasion, Apple is releasing two new Pride Edition bands for the Apple Watch. It comes in two amazing flavors, giving users some options on how to express their identity. Starting today, Apple Watch users can customize their bands with the Pride Edition Sport Loop and the Pride Edition Nike Sports Loop.
First off, the Pride Edition Sport Loop is a white nylon band brandishing the combined power of several pride flags including transgender and gender-nonconforming identities. It also has colors for the Black and the Latinx community. Crossing each color in the rainbow, a stylized “pride” shines across the band, similar to the style of the classic Macintosh “hello.”
Further, with the new App Clip functionality, the band comes with its own dedicated watch face to match hardware with software.
Secondly, the Pride Edition Nike Sport Loop is a simpler black band with pride colors across its length. The main headline is the accompanying watch face, though. As part of Nike’s Be True collection, the watch face is a gradient depicting pride colors and representing the identity in sports.
Both bands are now available for order online for US$ 49. It will also come to Apple Store branches starting May 26.
Besides the two bands, Apple is also releasing a Shot on iPhone campaign during Pride Month for the LGBTQ+ community.
Poké ball Galaxy Buds exist
But only in South Korea
South Korea has all the Poké-luck in the world. After being treated to a special Pokémon Edition of the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3, they’re now getting Galaxy Buds housed in a Poké ball case.
As Gizmodo reports, the Poké ball Galaxy Buds retails for 134,000 KRW (around $105). Included in the package are a bunch of Pokémon stickers featuring Pikachu, Bulbasaur, Charmander, Squirtle, and more.
It’s interesting to note that the Poké ball case doesn’t charge the Galaxy Buds. How it works is that the regular charging case of the Galaxy Buds fits inside the Poké ball case. It’s a neat workaround and one that could be a welcome treat for existing Galaxy Buds owners who may want to purchase the case separately should that be an option.
As mentioned earlier, this special edition Galaxy Buds is likely a follow-up to a the Pokémon Edition of Galaxy Z Flip 3. That package will net users a Pikachu Clear Cover Set, a Pokémon Pouch for the device, and a Pokémon Custom Pack (which includes a Pikachu keychain, stand, and custom sticker set). The device will also have a varied set of themes installed on the phone.
