Razer X Fossil Gen 6 is a smartwatch for gamers

Featuring the Snapdragon Wear 4100+

After several forays in different industries, which one hasn’t Razer touched? Over the past few years, the gaming peripherals brand has released products in lifestyle, automotive, and even facemask markets. This CES 2022, the company launched a follow-up to the Zephyr mask, the Zephyr Pro. Apparently, Razer isn’t done this month. The company has also announced a partnership with Fossil for the Razer X Fossil Gen 6 smartwatch.

Much like Fossil’s usual tray of smartwatches, the Razer X Fossil Gen 6 has the iconic triple-crown layout. The watch has a 44mm stainless steel case and a 1.28-inch 326ppi touchscreen display.

You might have already guessed what turns this into a Razer watch. The straps come in either black or Razer’s iconic green. There are also three exclusive watch faces inspired by Razer: Analog, Text, or Chroma.

Underneath, the smartwatch is the first device to come with Snapdragon Wear 4100+. It will have 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage. Supplemented by Wear OS, the watch can supposedly perform up to 30 percent better than the Fossil Gen 5. With Razer’s Champions Start from Within initiative, users can focus on both gaming and wellness while using the watch.

For health tracking, the smartwatch has an improved heart rate sensor and a new SpO2 sensor. Users can also track the quality of their sleep.

The battery can reportedly charge up to 80 percent in just 30 minutes of charging.

The Razer X Fossil Gen 6 smartwatch will start selling this month for US$ 329 through Fossil’s online store, Razer’s online store, or select retailers. Only 1,337 will be produced.

Olivia Rodrigo, Sony team up for an exclusive pair of LinkBuds S

Built with her design and EQ settings

Everyone gets those periods when we can’t listen to anything else except a single artist or album.  If Olivia Rodrigo is your particular craze right now, Sony has a custom set of earbuds for you. Sony and Olivia Rodrigo has just teamed up for a customized edition of the LinkBuds S.

Compared to the WF-1000XM5, the LinkBuds S offers a more midrange pair for earbud users. With the price, it’s a more affordable way to enjoy Sony’s audio technology. Now, the company has another option for those who want to elevate their experience a tiny bit more.

In collaboration with the pop star herself, the Olivia Rodrigo Edition of the LinkBuds S boasts more than just a fresh coat of paint. The pair will have two new equalizer settings. The two modes, tuned by Rodrigo, will maximize the device’s capabilities when playing her two albums, Sour and Guts. Users can change the earbuds’ settings through Sony’s Headphones Connect app.

The custom edition’s design is also unique, though. According to Sony, no pair is the same. Each unit was made with a marbled pattern unique to the pair. The earbuds and the charging case are elegantly purple. Even without the special equalizer setting, the custom design looks amazing.

Preorders for the Olivia Rodrigo Edition of the LinkBuds S are available now through Sony or Rodrigo’s website. The units will start shipping on November 21. Like the regular edition of the device, it will sell for US$ 199.99.

Apple’s September 2023 “Wonderlust” Event isn’t just about the new iPhones. They’ve also announced updates to the well-loved Apple Watch Series 8 and Watch Ultra.

The Apple Watch Series 9 and Ultra 2 may not look so different from their predecessors, but the new features cater to older Apple Watch users to upgrade.

Aside from the upgraded S9 SiP (System in a Chip), this also enables new features like having a built-in Siri and even Double Tap using your two fingers and wrist.

And thanks to Apple’s Carbon Neutral goal by 2030, the new Apple Watches (at least the Ultra 2 and aluminum-cased Series 9s) are now more sustainable for the environment.

This also means saying bye-bye to our good ol’ leather Watch bands — but wait until you see what Apple has to offer.
