2021’s Exynos will still lose to the Snapdragon 875
According to a leak
Despite running under the same flag, Samsung’s flagships have always floundered under the same dilemma: Exynos versus Snapdragon. Since the company’s branching out, a few users have vocally questioned which variant reigns supreme. Most user will, of course, look past the practically indistinguishable difference. To most critics, though, Snapdragon is the clear, quantitative winner. According to a report, 2021’s Exynos will still lose to the Snapdragon 875 next year.
Tweeted by renowned Samsung leaker Ice Universe, the upcoming Exynos 1000 will reportedly still perform less than its Qualcomm equivalent, the Snapdragon 875. However, the leaker notes that the gap between the two is steadily shrinking. This potentially hints at the former’s overtaking of the latter in the future.
It is expected that next year's Exynos1000 will still lose to Snapdragon 875, whether it is CPU or GPU, but it is certain that the gap is narrowing. Samsung adopt AMD GPU in 2022, but at the same time Qualcomm will also significantly update GPU to Adreno7, so everything is possi

Additionally, the report claims that 2022’s Exynos chip will finally upgrade to an AMD-powered GPU, departing from the current Mali chips. However, at the same time, the leaker expects Qualcomm to make a significant jump to Adreno 7 as well.
Though Exynos will still lose out in terms of performance, a follow-up tweet hints at Exynos 1000 doing better in terms of battery efficiency.
Of note, the leaker has explicitly expressed their disdain over the Exynos’s poorer quality compared to the Snapdragon series. As it is, it’s still too early to make quantitative claims about the upcoming chips. Right now, it’s best to take the recent tweet with a grain of salt.
Currently, Samsung’s flagships use either the Exynos 990 or the Snapdragon 865 Plus, as seen in the recently launched Galaxy Note 20 series.
