Samsung Galaxy A8+ gets One UI with its Android 9 Pie update

Samsung‘s Android 9 Pie rollout is slower compared to other manufacturers, but at least the One UI skin on top of Google’s latest version has plenty to offer. The newest phone to get the update is the Galaxy A8+ (2018), a phone that was launched back in December 2017.

The phone first had Android Nougat then it received Android Oreo last year. This makes Android Pie its second major update and it could also be its last. The update brings Samsung’s very own One UI and the February 2019 security patch.

According to SamMobile, the rollout has started in Russia. There’s no exact timeline when it’ll reach other regions, but we’re betting it’ll come to more markets in the coming weeks.

As for the phone’s smaller sibling, the Galaxy A8 (2018), the update is yet to come. Both the Galaxy A8 and Galaxy A8+ practically share the same specs, so the update for the two shouldn’t be that different.

When the update is already available in your region, it should automatically download if your settings permit. You can also check for it manually by heading over to the Settings menu. The update is available through Samsung Smart Switch as well.
