Best of the best in one smartphone

Who doesn’t love a good team-up moment? When you have a handful of memorable components, sometimes it’s best to mix them all into one package. That’s what the new Xperia 1 VII is about. It’s Sony’s latest flagship which combines the best technologies from the company’s lineup in one smartphone.

Built with α

Most users are likely familiar with Sony’s extensive lineup of cameras. The lineup marks the best of the company’s camera technologies. Now, the lineup is lending its talents to the Xperia brand.

The Xperia 1 VII carries three rear cameras with a new 16mm ultra wide-angle lens. The main camera features a 48-megapixel 1/1.56-inch sensor. It can supposedly take clear night shots with minimal distortion.

Further, the wide-angle lens features 24mm/48mm image sensors, which is also great for low-light capturing. Finally, a telephoto lens can zoom from 85mm to 170mm away for long-distance capturing.

The Walkman returns

Another important member of Sony’s family is the Walkman. Though you might know the brand from its early days as a physical media player, the Walkman still exists as a portable music player designed for Hi-Fi listening.

The audio brand also lends its talents to the Xperia 1 VII. Besides an audio port for wired listening, the smartphone comes with DSEE Ultimate, which can upgrade audio from streaming sources with AI technology.

A touch of BRAVIA

Finally, the Xperia 1 VII uses technology from Sony’s BRAVIA displays. The smartphone itself carries a sensor which can automatically adjust the screen to better reflect conditions. Especially because of an improved screen with better peak brightness, the display still puts out images accurately under direct sunlight.

A true smartphone inside

Besides the flurry of Sony’s technologies, the Xperia 1 VII comes with an impressive set of specs under the hood. It has the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite, paired with 12GB of RAM and up to 512GB of internal storage (expandable by up to 2TB).

As if that’s not enough, the smartphone is compatible with PS Remote Play, paired with DualShock 4 or DualSense connectivity. It also has a 5000mAh battery.

Price, availability

The Xperia 1 VII is available in Slate Black, Moss Green, and Orchid Purple. It costs SGD 1,989 incl.9% GST.

Further, ordering from now until June 30 will include a free phone case with matching colors and a pair of WH-1000 XM5 Noise Cancelling Headphones.

Bravia 3 II | Bravia Theater

Sony is expanding its home entertainment push with a new range of BRAVIA Theatre audio products and the BRAVIA 3 II TV. The lineup aims to make a full cinema-style experience more accessible. That’s true whether you’re starting with a soundbar or building a complete surround setup.

Soundbars designed to fill the room

Leading the audio lineup is the BRAVIA Theatre Bar 7, a compact yet powerful soundbar built with nine speaker units. It includes up-firing and side speakers. These work alongside Sony’s 360 Spatial Sound Mapping to create a wider, more immersive sound field from a single unit. Room calibration further optimizes audio based on your space. There are also optional subwoofers and rear speakers unlock deeper bass and fuller surround.

For a more accessible option, the BRAVIA Theatre Bar 5 offers a 3.1-channel setup with a wireless subwoofer. It focuses on delivering clear dialogue and strong bass, using S-Force PRO Front Surround and Vertical Surround Engine to simulate a three-dimensional listening experience.

Both soundbars support Dolby Atmos and DTS:X, integrate with compatible BRAVIA TVs for unified control, and can be managed via the BRAVIA Connect app.

Expanding the surround experience

Sony is also introducing a set of optional speakers designed to complete the home cinema setup. The BRAVIA Theatre Sub 9 and Sub 8 deliver deep, room-filling bass, with the Sub 9 featuring dual opposing drivers to reduce distortion. Notably, the lineup now supports dual subwoofer configurations for the first time.

Meanwhile, the BRAVIA Theatre Rear 9 adds height and depth to rear channels through its up-firing speaker. This helps create a more convincing surround environment when paired with compatible soundbars.

A bigger screen to match

Alongside the audio products, Sony is rolling out the BRAVIA 3 II, a mid-tier TV available in sizes up to 100 inches. Powered by the XR Processor and XR Triluminos Pro, it aims to deliver natural colors, strong contrast, and refined detail.

The TV supports Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos, and DTS:X, and is also positioned as a capable gaming display. It comes with 4K at 120Hz and four HDMI 2.1 ports. Sony is also introducing a new Inclusive Remote with improved button layout and a Remote Finder feature for easier accessibility.
