What’s in a name? Sony’s Xperia line of smartphones has been around for years, despite struggling recently to stay relevant in a highly competitive market. Sony launched the Xperia 5 last September to prove that the Xperia line is not dead. Now, Sony is launching the Xperia 5 in Singapore — and there are freebies up for grabs too!

Sony Xperia 5 will be available in Singapore from November 1 at Sony concept stores and through online store on Lazada for S$1,099. The phone comes in blue, red, gray, and black colors.

The first few buyers of the Xperia 5 gets a free Sony WH-CH700N headphones and a style cover of their choice. The Sony WH-CH700N is a wireless headphones with noise cancelling and NFC for instant connection. Plus, it has 35 hours of playback time on a single, full charge. Its SRP is S$ 249, so the first few buyers are in for a treat.

Xperia 5 specs

The Xperia 5 is the compact version of the Xperia 1. Basically, the Xperia 5 is the “baby” brother of the Xperia 1. However, it keeps most of the same features from Xperia 1.

From a design perspective, it is unmistakably an Xperia smartphone with its sleek and boxy body. Xperia 5’s display is a 6.1-inch FHD+ OLED 21:9 display. It has three cameras in a 12MP wide-angle + 12MP ultra-wide-angle + 12MP telephoto lens setup.

Performance-wise, this Xperia comes with Snapdragon 855 which is standard for a 2019 Android flagship. It has 6GB of RAM memory, and 128GB of storage enough for most people. Those who need more storage can do so with a MicroSD card expansion slot. Battery is rated at 3,140 mAh, and charging is done with a fast-charging 18W USB-C adapter.
