They’re truly #scarygood

People celebrate Halloween differently, but there is one thing that everyone does: watch TV shows and films. If you’re looking for a movie to watch while on your bed, or inspiration for your next costume, look no further. Here are some scary good shows you need to watch this Halloween.

Chilling Adventures of Sabrina

The witches are calling! Sabrina Spellman is a half-witch, half-mortal, who on her 16th birthday, has to make a choice between the witch world of her family and the human world of her friends. Enjoy watching her adventures as she maintains the balance of living two lives, and fighting off the danger that lurks in the human world.

If watching this show inspires you to dress up like Sabrina Spellman (or any witch), get a black cat and make magic potions (out of fruit juices). Voilà! You just created your own Halloween adventure. 🔯

The Night Comes For Us

Time to get bloody. The Night Comes For Us is an action-packed movie about the story of an elite Triad assassin who had a change of heart and spared a girl’s life during a massacre. This event led him to be targeted by multiple enemies and he must survive to get the girl to safety.

The film is really violent, but watching it can inspire you to dress up like a crime syndicate boss, a gangster, or a sexy assassin. Pick your villain! 🗡️

Marvel’s Daredevil Season 3

It’s hero time! Matt Murdock is back but reemerges as a broken man. He questions his future as a vigilante and a lawyer. However, his archenemy, Wilson Fisk, has been released from prison and now, Matt must decide whether to continue hiding from the world, or embrace his destiny and become a hero.

And since we’re talking about heroes, Daredevil, like any character from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, is a great character you can emulate this Halloween. 🤘

The Haunting of Hill House

I know you’ve been waiting for a really scary show from this list, The Haunting of Hill House might be the show you’re looking for. It’s a story about the Crain family flashing between the past and present, where they confront the haunting memories of their old home, the terrifying events that affected them, and the issues they’re facing up to the present day. What sets this show apart is its complex story that will definitely blow your mind.

Bonus: It has original costume designs that will surely scare your friends this Halloween. 👌

22 July

Okay, let’s get serious. 22 July is about Norway’s deadliest terrorist attack, which happened on the same date in the year 2011. The film is based on a true story focused on the survivor’s physical and emotional journey, which also tackles the aftermath of terrorism brought upon the country, most especially about the kids murdered during summer camp. If you don’t feel anything after watching this film, you’re something else. 😔

All these are available on Netflix right now. Enjoy watching!

Computers

Reports suggest many new PCs are infected with viruses

A good bargain doesn’t necessarily mean a good product

It always feels good to save up for and earn a new computer or console for yourself. Until, you discover that the console or PC you bought is loaded with all sorts of problems — particularly, viruses.

Now, imagine that but instead of just one PC, an entire company finds it in 83 percent of its new computers in several Asian countries. Microsoft’s Asia PC Test Purchase Sweep, the company’s initiative towards educating consumers and enterprises, provides information against piracy and its risks. They found that these new PCs were sold in retailers that offered computers at a much lower price than intended to.

The report suggests that these retailers turn off Windows security features for them to install pirated software on these PCs. It also found that they contained software infected with viruses and trojans. Microsoft generally explains the risks that come from turning off these features, such as leaving your PC vulnerable to cyber threats and malware.

“Cyber criminals are constantly evolving their techniques to evade security measures, and embedding their malware is one of their tactics,” said Mary Jo Schrade, Assistant General Counsel from Microsoft Asia.

These findings are concerning for people who purchase new PCs through special deals, especially those that come with free software. Schrade suggests that consumers who want to purchase PCs should look for retailers that provide genuine software when bundled with the PC.

To avoid any more complications, it is also recommended to keep their software updated and follow safe internet practices. Such practices include avoiding potentially dangerous websites, legally downloading software or purchasing licenses to use them, and use recognized cloud-based file sharing systems.

In the video above, you see me doing my hair and the final looks. I try a total of two styles — curly and straight — and take my ‘do out and about to see if my hair would hold. And yes folks, this was only the second time I used the Airwrap on myself, ever.

The results impressed!
