realme 6 and 6 Pro: price and availability in the Philippines

Upgrades of the realme 5 pro and realme XT

Published

on

realme recently launched the first phone in its realme 6 series, the realme 6i. Now, it is following the entry-level smartphone with two more devices. The realme 6 and 6 Pro are both launching on May 27 in the Philippines. Both of these devices are sure to shake up the midrange segment in the country.

realme 6 Pro

The realme 6 Pro is a midrange device that offer competitive specs at a bang-for-the-buck price. The display on this device is a 6.6-inch FHD screen with a cut-out for the dual selfie cameras. The best part about this display is its 90Hz refresh rate, a feature that is slowly making its way to midrange devices. The new cut-out notch and 90Hz refresh rate delivers a much immersive viewing experience than last year’s Realme 5 Pro.

Realme has also put some capable cameras for the 6 Pro. On the back, there’s a quad-camera setup consisting of 64MP wide-angle + 12MP telephoto + 8MP ultra-wide + 2MP macro lens. Meanwhile, the front now consists of a dual-camera setup in a 16MP wide + 8MP ultra-wide lens arrangement. Realme 5 Pro only has one front camera, making the 6 Pro a definite step-up to its predecessor.

As for the performance, the realme 6 Pro is the first smartphone with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G. The Snapdragon 720G is a midrange processor designed to handle medium to occasionally intensive tasks. Combined with the device’s realme UI which is based on Android 10, expect great all-around performance on this thing. The 4,300 mAh battery on this device also ensures all-day battery life for the Realme 6 Pro. There’s also a 30W quick charger bundled with the device for speedy top-ups.

realme 6

Meanwhile, the realme 6 is billed as the true successor to the realme 5 Pro. It gains a 90Hz refresh rate for its display, which is now 6.5 inches compared to the 5 Pro’s 6.3 inches. It still has a quad-camera setup on its back, but there are some notable changes too. Realme bumped the main wide-angle camera from 5 Pro’s 48 MP to 64MP, which will deliver more detailed shots than before.  The selfie camera is still the same at 16MP.

This time around, realme opted for a MediaTek processor on this device. It now has the midrange Helio G90T processor inside. Coupled with realme UI based on Android 10, this processor should provide decent performance for realme 6. The battery and charging times are improved with this device too. It now comes with a 4,300 mAh battery and a faster 30W charger bundled with the device.

Pricing and availability

The realme 6 and 6 Pro will both retail on May 27 on Lazada. The first 200 customers of the 6 Pro will get a free Realme Band worth PhP 1,499. Pricing are as follows:

realme 6

  • 4GB + 128GB — PhP 11,990
