Call of Duty: Vanguard, the latest in the long line of Call of Duty titles, is upon us. To make sure you’re not running around like a headless chicken, developer Activision put together 10 tips for the first 10 hours of our playthrough.
1. Get Your Settings Right
Whether you’re on console or PC, it’s important to use the settings that provide the best play experience possible. Take some time going over and experimenting with various button layouts and aiming sensitivities. Adjust your field of view and customize the color palette of different game elements. Spend the time to get things just right!
2. Play the Campaign First
Particularly for new and returning players, we’ll say it again: the Campaign is a great place to start. This coincides with the above point, too, as you can freely pause and take your time to make adjustments at will. You’ll get a great introduction into the world of Vanguard, and by the time you’re finished, you’ll be more than ready to jump into Multiplayer competition.
3. Pick a Weapon and Go
In Multiplayer and Zombies, you’ll earn Weapon XP for eliminating enemies, thereby unlocking new attachment options for you to customize your weapon to preference. Once you’ve experimented with different weapon categories and found a weapon you like, stick with it for a few matches to start opening up its customization options.
4. Play the Objective
If you’re just looking for kills, load up Team Deathmatch. Otherwise, the best way to aid your team and earn XP is by focusing on the objective, whether that’s locking down objectives in Domination or picking up tags in Kill Confirmed. Stay focused on the task at hand and your abilities are guaranteed to improve quickly.
5. Go for Low-Cost Killstreaks
Low cost doesn’t mean cheap, and for new players, it’s a great way to experience the thrill of earning Killstreaks when starting out. Try Intel to reveal nearby enemies, the Spy Plane to reveal enemies to your entire team, and the Glide Bomb to get enemies off objectives fast.
6. Complete Challenges
Head to the Challenges menu in Multiplayer and Zombies to view specific tasks that, when completed, award bonus XP and cosmetic items like new Calling Cards. These are a great way to improve your abilities, as they challenge you with tasks you may otherwise not have considered.
7. Hit the Barracks
The Barracks is your go-to destination for following your current progress and creating your unique identity in Campaign and Multiplayer. Check stats like your current rank, combat record, and earned medals. Customize your profile with earned Calling Cards, Frames, Player Titles, Emblems, and Gestures & Sprays.
8. Invite Your Friends, Join a Clan
There’s nothing like jumping into a Multiplayer match or taking on the zombie horde with a group of friends. With the ability to connect across all supported platforms, it’s easier than ever to group up and get a game going. The friends that slay together, stay together — just be sure to create a Clan so everyone gets even more rewards for being a part of the same squad!
9. Check Out the Battle Pass
The Season Six Battle Pass from Black Ops Cold War includes 24 Free Tiers tied to Vanguard, which all can be earned just by playing the game. Progress is shared between Campaign, Zombies, and Warzone, and free tiers are scattered among the pass for players who are just getting their bearings. Want to unlock them all? Purchase the Battle Pass at launch for access to all 100 tiers of content, including new Operator Skins, Weapon Blueprints, Emblems, Consumables, and enough Call of Duty Points to purchase the next Battle Pass.
10. Practice Makes Perfect
Nobody said war is easy. If you’re struggling in your first matches, keep your head cool and jump in again. The more you begin to understand the various maps, modes, weapons, and systems underlying Vanguard, the more confident and skilled you will become at handling even the toughest situations.
Call of Duty: Vanguard is coming to PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Battle.net on Friday November 5th , 2021.

Xiaomi Vision Gran Turismo to launch in Gran Turismo 7
Xiaomi becomes 36th company in Vision Gran Turismo project
The Xiaomi Vision Gran Turismo (Xiaomi Vision GT) is coming to Gran Turismo 7, the video game has announced.
Xiaomi becomes the 36th brand and the first technology company to join the Vision Gran Turismo project.
Launched in 2013, the project invites brands to imagine and create original concept cars exclusively for the Gran Turismo video game series.
As such, the Xiaomi Vision GT, which made its global debut at MWC 2026 Barcelona, is a concept only available on the racing simulation. Although, a physical concept was showcased at Auto China 2026 in Beijing.
Gran Turismo 7 introduces the first EV driving experience for the concept model. Challenges feature both the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra and Vision GT.
This gives players a new way to explore the distinct acceleration, braking, and handling characteristics of the high-performance EVs, albeit in a virtual setting.
Sculpted by the wind
The Xiaomi Vision GT is guided by the design philosophy “Sculpted by the Wind.” Rather than relying on deliberately sharpened surfaces or add-on aerodynamic elements, the car is shaped around a suspended teardrop-like cabin, with every surface aerodynamically optimized and every structural element designed with an airfoil cross-section.
Building on aerodynamic solutions proven in production vehicles such as Xiaomi SU7 and Xiaomi YU7, Xiaomi Vision GT takes the approach further.
Its cross-shaped headlights also function as airflow guides, while the signature halo-shaped taillight is integrated into the rear air channel. Together with an active wake-control system, these features enable an aerodynamic efficiency value of 4.1 and a drag coefficient (Cd) of 0.29.
Moreover, Xiaomi Vision GT also introduces the “Sofa Racer” concept, centered on a cocoon-like cockpit that combines comfort, immersion and driver focus.
Powered by Xiaomi Hyper XiaoAi AI Voice Assistant and Xiaomi MiMo foundation model, the cockpit can anticipate and respond to driver intent while connecting naturally with Xiaomi’s Human × Car × Home smart ecosystem.

Ubisoft makes The Crew Motorfest available on Switch 2 as Season 11 launches
Carefully optimized for the on-the-go gaming experience
Ubisoft has launched The Crew Motorfest on Nintendo Switch 2, bringing the newly released Season 11: Expeditions to Nintendo players.
The Switch 2 version has been carefully optimized to preserve the richness of the title’s experience, while embracing the freedom of playing anywhere and anytime on the handheld.
Ubisoft Ivory Tower officially kicked off The Crew Motorfest’s fourth year of content earlier in the week with Season 11, the title’s most expansive content yet.
It provided players with a new island, Special Events, and never-before seen features, including wildlife roaming across the archipelago.
Aside from Switch 2, the update is available on Ubisoft+, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Steam Deck, and PC (Ubisoft, Epic Games, Steam).
New vehicles, challenges, more
In Season 11, The Crew Motorfest partners with Crystal Dynamics for a premium DLC pack.
This includes exclusive vehicles, a new island, and a brand-new playlist (Tomb Raider: Secrets of Ni’ihau).
Players will join Lara Croft as she searches for her missing friend who vanished after chasing a powerful relic. Using Lara’s guidance from afar, players will navigate a storm lashed jungle crawling with ancient ruins and deadly predators as every mile brings them closer to the truth.
Moreover, the game’s maps also expands this season with the new free island Kauai. Players can explore this via the Kauai Expeditions Playlist.
The free playlist features eight main events, 40 animals to photograph, and the new Road Discovery feature, which encourages players to travel along all the exciting paths in the game to explore the world, uncover the map, and earn rewards.
Furthermore, Season 11 includes a new winch & towing feature for select vehicles. Winch turns every dead end into an opportunity. Players can haul debris, crack puzzles, explore new blaze trails, and even drag other vehicles out of trouble.
To take on towing challenges, there’s a selection of vehicles like the Hyundai Crater Concept, Suzuki Jimny Winch Ed, and Mercedes-Benz G 63 AMG 6×6.
The latest season also includes the Lamborghini Huracan Sterrato. And in a new special event, players can experience a showstopper dedicated to the legendary Bugatti Tourbillon.
A total of 20 new vehicles will roll out across Year 4 and Season 11, including:
- Bugatti Tourbillon
- Lamborghini Huracan Sterrato
- The Hyundai Crater Concept
- Suzuki Jimny (2018) Special Edition
- Cadillac Ct5-V Blackwing (2025) Street tier 2
