Flagship foldable makes Philippines debut
The flagship foldable smartphone HONOR Magic V3 is now in the Philippines. HONOR’s latest book-style foldable, and currently the world’s thinnest so far, boasts of innovations in durability, battery, display, and AI tech.
Launched in partnership with network provider Globe, the HONOR Magic V3 is now available in the country under Globe GPlan 2499.
Customers interested in getting the HONOR Magic V3 (12GB+512GB) can purchase via Globe for a one-time cashout of PhP 31,600.
As part of the Philippine launch, HONOR is also offering a free HONOR Pad X9 for every subscription, until December 31, 2024.
The plan comes with 25GB of mobile data and unlimited all-net calls and texts.
It’s also available on GPlan Plus 1799 for an initial cashout of PhP 38,400.
Pricing
If you wish to purchase the foldable flat-out, the official Philippine price is PhP 89,999. It comes with a free HONOR Pad X9 until December 1, 2024.
HONOR Magic V3
Announced globally at IFA 2024 two months ago, the Magic V3 has a folded thickness of 9.2 millimeters and weighs only 226 grams. It has a 6.43-inch external display and a 7.92-inch internal foldable screen. Both LTPO OLED panels are fortified by anti-scratch shields as well.
The foldable also incorporates a Special Fiber into its body material to enhance its impact resistance. Moreover, it has HONOR’s SGS Durability-certified Super Steel Hinge to withstand 500,000 folding cycles.
Beyond its form factor and flagship durability, the Magic V3 boasts of displays with Dolby Vision, 120Hz adaptive refresh rate, DCI-P3 wide color gamut, 1.07 billion colors, and 4320Hz PWM Dimming.
Best AI foldable phone?
The Magic V3 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor and Adreno 750 graphics. Inside, the foldable also has a 5,150mAh Silicon-Carbon battery with support for 66W wired and 50W wireless SuperCharge.
It runs on HONOR’s MagicOS platform, so users can be assured of some of HONOR’s familiar on-device AI tech.
There’s AI Motion Sensing, AI Eraser, Face-to-Face Translation, and Translation tools under HONOR Notes. There’s also the brand’s signature Magic Portal and Parallel Space.

Built with Google Cloud AI
Furthermore, the Magic V3 harnesses the power of Google Cloud AI. Announced last month, the foldable now comes with Circle to Search, powered by Google.
If you’re familiar with Google Lens, Circle to Search basically does the same, but with more precision. Users can try the feature with either a stylus or just their fingers. Simply encircle a part of an image and search results will instantly be pulled up based on the object.
Circle to Search has several practical applications, from research all the way to shopping. The same goes if you just want to recall more information about a photo you took. The AI-powered feature is definitely a big help.
It’s one of those AI capabilities on your phone that you’d rather have and not need, instead of need but not have.
And Circle to Search isn’t the only AI feature on the HONOR Magic V3. The world’s thinnest book-style foldable is equipped with AI Eraser, Face to Face Translation, and HONOR Notes, among other pro-grade productivity features.
HONOR also introduced AI Defocus Eye Protection and AI Deepfake Detection technologies to address health and safety concerns associated with smartphone usage.

VinFast updates battery subscription policy for large upfront savings
Up to 20% upfront savings with a battery subscription model
VinFast has updated its battery subscription policy for the Philippine market, offering consumers up to 20% savings in upfront costs.
In addition to the traditional vehicle purchase with battery included, customers can own a VinFast EV under a battery subscription model.
This option offers a more attractive initial investment, with upfront costs reduced by up to 20% — depending on the model.
Battery subscription fees are applied flexibly, starting from PhP 1,600 per month, based on actual distance.
For instance, the VinFast VF3 can be purchased at PhP 590,000 under the battery subscription model rather than PhP 745,000. The monthly subscription fee then starts at PhP 1,600.
Meanwhile, for the VF6 and above variants, the monthly costs start at PhP 2,350. Customers can also save more than PhP 1.5 million on the VF 9 Plus.
Flexible financial tool
Positioned as a “lifetime battery warranty” solution, the battery subscription policy is a flexible financial tool that optimizes cash flow. It is likewise a long-term commitment to consumers.
VinFast assumes full responsibility for battery performance throughout the subscription period. This includes maintenance, repairs, and free replacement when battery capacity drops below 70 percent.
In the event of battery damage caused by an accident, VinFast will handle the issue under the battery subscription policy. This helps minimize financial risks for customers.
The pioneering policy reinforces VinFast’s customer-centric commitment, advancing green mobility in the market.
Meanwhile, customers who opt for the traditional vehicle purchase with battery included, VinFast can still offer comprehensive aftersales benefits. This includes a battery warranty of up to 10 years or 200,000 kilometers.
The dual approach allows interested consumers to be in control of the ownership model that best suits their needs and personal financial capabilities.

3D printing made accessible: Bambu Lab moves closer to everyday consumers
Empowering consumers to create tangible objects
China-based brand Bambu Lab makes an effort to move closer to everyday consumers in the Philippines with a new retail partner by holding a media and creators roundtable in the Philippines. This was a bid to reshape how consumers perceive and use 3D printing technology.
Established in Shenzhen, China in 2020, Bambu Lab aims to make 3D printing more accessible, practical, and relevant to daily life through printers and other supplies.
The goal is to support practical home use, creative hobbies, product design, and even specialized tools, while putting emphasis on ease of use.
With such optics, Bambu Lab is trying to make consumers feel that there is less deep technical knowledge required and that they can actually create physical objects with 3D printing.
One of their products is the entry-level Bambu Lab A1 mini, which is compact enough to fit on a small desk.
The brand also has more advanced models which are capable of printing multiple colors and materials on a single run.
To complement the hardware ecosystem, Bambu Lab’s open platform MakerWorld lets users browse, select, and print from an extensive library of shared 3D designs directly from their own desktops.
The platform features a wide variety of objects across multiple categories. There’s household items, DIY tools, children’s toys, props, and educational materials.
In the Philippines, Bambu Lab will open its first concept store at One Ayala, Makati City. The concept corner will give mallgoers the opportunity to see the range of 3D printers and consumables firsthand.
