Globe and Smart recently released their Apple iPhone X postpaid plans, and since the latest iPhone is expensive to purchase in one straight payment, getting a line is one of the best ways to get the device.

Both telcos are offering Apple’s latest iPhone through regular postpaid plans for as cheap as Plan 500 or up to Plan 2999. Each plan has its own inclusions and cash-out fees.

In this comparison, let’s check out the offers for the iPhone X (64GB) with the telcos’ recommended postpaid plans: ThePLAN 1799 for Globe and iPhone Plan 1499 for Smart.

Globe’s package of unlimited voice calls within their network and unlimited texts to any network in the country is great for those who love to keep in touch. For mobile data, they offer 11GB with the usual freebies of Netflix, Disney, and Spotify subscriptions. The device has a PhP 38,400 cash-out which is still steep, but you can pay through a monthly installment of PhP 1,600 (either charged to your bill or own credit card). As always, a standard 24-month contract is required. The phone and the plan will cost PhP 3,399 per month or PhP 81,576 for two years.

Smart’s plan has unlimited texts and but only has 60 minutes of voice calls to all networks. Once consumed, users can enjoy a discounted call rate of PhP 4 per minute to Smart/TNT. The plan has 9GB of data with free monthly access to an app of choice including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, Viber, or Waze. It’s got a PhP 40,800 cash-out or PhP 1,700 monthly installment, which can be charged to your postpaid bill or credit card. A 24-month contract will be in effect with a total monthly fee of PhP 3,199 or PhP 76,776 all in all.

Both plans have their own advantages. Globe has always been focused on their content freebies and unlimited chit chat via SMS, or voice calls to other Globe or TM subscribers. While ThePLAN 1799 has more allowance for data, it’s also more expensive per month and for the whole duration of the contract.

Smart is more suited for those who need to contact any number without thinking if they’ll be charged on top of their monthly fee. But, those limited minutes can be constricting if you make a lot of calls. Their suggested plan is cheaper than Globe’s even after two years, which means you can use those savings for unexpected charges.

The Apple iPhone X is priced in the Philippines starting at PhP 64,490 for the 64GB model and PhP 73,990 for the 256GB model.
