You have the freedom to choose

Alongside the business notebooks under the ThinkPad series, Lenovo‘s consumer line of IdeaPad laptops also has new models. Whether it’ll be for everyday computing or serious multimedia usage, Lenovo gives buyers the freedom to choose.

Apart from multiple models, fans will be glad to know that they also have the option to either get an Intel-powered laptop or try out AMD’s newest processors with improved graphics performance.

IdeaPad C340

First is the IdeaPad C340 which appears to be a cheaper version of the Lenovo Yoga C930 we reviewed. Despite not having Yoga in the name, the IdeaPad C340 boasts a 360-degree hinge to transform from a laptop to a tablet in seconds.

It’ll come in two display sizes: 14 and 15 inches. The screen’s resolution is up to Full HD plus there’s support for touch and pen input. The laptop also has a few processor options from Intel’s Core series and AMD’s Ryzen family. Graphics-wise, you either opt for the NVIDIA GeForce MX230 or Ryzen’s built-in Radeon RX Vega.

With up to 16GB of memory and up to 1.5TB storage (SSD and HDD combined), the IdeaPad C340 is great for school or office work that requires photo and video editing.

Other features include up to eight hours of battery life, Dolby Audio-enhanced speakers, a 720p webcam with Privacy Shutter, and support for RapidCharge technology.

Pricing starts at US$ 450 for both the Intel and AMD variants. Expect it to be in stores by March 2019.

IdeaPad S540

The IdeaPad S540 is more of a mainstream laptop with all the essential features plus a boost in graphics. While maintaining a slim profile, the IdeaPad S540 can be equipped with an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 for gaming on the go.

Complementing the discrete graphics is Intel’s latest Core processors. There’s also the AMD Ryzen option with Radeon RX Vega integrated graphics. The IdeaPad S540’s display comes in either 14 or 15 inches with thinner three-side bezels.

Memory and storage is up to 12GB and 1TB, respectively. For extra speed, Intel’s Optane memory is also available. With all of its power, the laptop is kept cool by dual-action fans inside its aluminum chassis.

The rest of the specs include stereo speakers with Dolby Audio, a 720p webcam with Privacy Shutter, and a battery that’s rated to last for up to 12 hours.

The laptop will come in Abyss Blue, Copper, and Mineral Grey. Its price starts at US$ 730 for the AMD variant, while the Intel model has a base price of US$ 850.

IdeaPad S340

The last on the list is the IdeaPad S340. This laptop offers basic computing, but it doesn’t sacrifice looks or performance. Lenovo aims to give key technology features within the budget of the consumers, according to their press release.

Like the other two, the IdeaPad S340 will also come in two display sizes and either Intel or AMD processors. It can support up to 12GB of memory and up to 2TB HDD if needed. Graphics performance will be taken care of by the optional NVIDIA GeForce MX250.

Lenovo rates the battery life to last between ten and eight hours depending on whether the discrete graphics unit is in use or not.

Price starts at US$ 370 for the 14-inch model with Intel Core processors, while the bigger 15-inch variant starts at US$ 430 with AMD Ryzen processors.

After a month (or two) of waiting for the local launch of Apple’s newest MacBook Air, Power Mac Center has finally unveiled and brought the MacBook Air M3 to the Philippine shores this May 3, 2024 at their Premium Partner Store in Greenbelt 3.

This goes live hand-in-hand with select Power Mac Center branches as well as The Loop stores nationwide.

Lean and Mean

Just like its predecessor, the new generation of Silicon-powered MacBook Air is either available in 13 or 15-inch Liquid Retina displays.

Both sizes are lean at just around 0.45-inches in thickness — or thinness, rather. The laptops are lightweight too weighing at just 1.24 kilograms and 1.51 kilograms respectively.

But being light in heft doesn’t mean it’s light in features. In fact, the MacBook Air M3 is power-packed to consider it as “the world’s best consumer laptop for AI“.

There are several configurations like choosing between 8GB or 16GB of unified memory and 256GB or 512GB of internal storage.

But the highlight of the show is none other than its new M3 chipset. This has an 8-core CPU that’s powerful than ever and promises 13x faster than its last Intel-based countepart. Aside from that, GPU can be configured between 8 or 10 cores.

Moreover, the new MacBook Air M3 boasts a Wi-Fi 6E connectivity support as well as a promising all-day battery life of up to 18 hours! Also, there’s an extra support for another external display — that’s when you use it closed.

Mac and Me

To further hype up the launch of the much-awaited MacBook Air powered by M3, Power Mac Center has invited some renowned Mac users and using it to further hone their craftsmanship.

This was then followed by Merphi Panaguiton, the Creative Director and Co-Founder of ATOMM Studios — one of the country’s leading self-shoot studios.

Last but definitely not the least is Sid Maderazo, a prominent film director especially in terms of brand filmmaking.

Pricing and Availability

The M3 MacBook Air, just like its predecessor, is still available in four color choices: Midnight, Starlight, Space Gray, and Silver.

Both display sizes are available in three different configurations:

Configuration 13-inch 15-inch
8GB unified memory + 256GB storage** PhP 76,990 PhP 89,990
