The iPhone SE series is meant to bring the classic Apple experience in a budget-friendly package. As time goes on, a new entry in the series crawls closer and closer to something similar to a regular iPhone. Next year, an upcoming iPhone SE will reportedly do just that, adding features found in modern flagship models.

According to Bloomberg, Apple is gearing up for a new iPhone SE early next year. The upcoming model will pack flagship features inside a small package. However, that package is starting to look appealing.

The new model will reportedly ditch the home button, much like the rest of the iPhone lineup today. Further, it will feature FaceID and Apple Intelligence.

All three changes, if true, are huge for the series. For one, the exclusion of a home button will bring the series to a more modern look, rather than looking like a retro phone. Secondly, having FaceID and Apple Intelligence is a massive upgrade in terms of performance. Both are not typical features you’d expect from a budget iPhone, especially AI.

Now, we don’t really know how Apple Intelligence, in its full power, will look like yet. The company is still slowly rolling out its features to the current lineup. Regardless, it should be impressive if it drops for a lower-end phone like the iPhone SE series.
