Preorders of Armored Core VI come with all the mecha goodies
Featuring a 19cm mecha
A mecha game will surely have the coolest collectibles for fans. If Armored Core VI Fires of Rubicon is in your list of upcoming games, you can grab one of those neat collectibles before the game releases next month. Here’s a rundown of preorder bonuses you can claim in Southeast Asia.
First of all, every pre-order purchase, regardless of tier, will come with an early unlock of the Melander C3 G13 Special Customization “Tenderfoot” in the game. This set will include the parts set, the emblem, and an exclusive AC decal. (Note that the parts set, and the emblem can be unlocked outside of the pre-order period by playing the game normally.
Users can pre-order the two most basic tiers of the game. The Standard Edition will just include the main game. Meanwhile, the Deluxe Edition will come with a digital artbook and the soundtrack.
Outside of these two, Armored Core VI Fires of Rubicon will also come with two collector’s editions. First, the Collector’s Edition will come with the main game, a steelbook case featuring original art, a 19cm Armored Core figurine, a set of four pin badges featuring emblems from the game, a set of 45 stickers, an exclusive 40-page hardcover artbook featuring the in-game world, and the game’s digital soundtrack. This version will retail for SGD 339.
Finally, a Premium Collector’s Edition will come with all of the goodies of the regular Collector’s Edition. However, buyers will also get a 32cm garage to place the 19cm Armored Core figurine. It retails for SGD 649.
To cap things off, Bandai Namco is offering a free themed controller case with every early purchase of a physical edition of the game. It’s free while stocks last.
Armored Core VI Fires of Rubicon is set to launch on August 25.
The trifecta is complete. Almost a year after announcing their new hardware, Valve has finally unveiled the price tag of the Steam Frame, complementing the Steam Machine and Steam Controller revealed a few months ago.
Whereas the Steam Machine is a console of its own, the Steam Frame is a traditional VR headset with a pair of controllers for both hands. Unfortunately, despite being in a different segment, the headset is not immune to the rising prices of technology. The Steam Frame will start at US$ 1,059 for a 256GB model and can go up to US$ 1,299 for the 1TB model. On the plus side, each box will come Half-Life: Alyx packaged along with the headset.
Here’s a more detailed rundown of what you’re getting. The Steam Frame will ship with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, paired with 16GB of RAM. Each eye comes with a 2160 x 2160 LCD screen, putting out images at up t0 a 144Hz experimental refresh rate. As mentioned above, the headset will start with 256GB of storage but can go up to 2TB. It will come packaged with SteamOS 3 and a rechargeable 21.6Wh battery.
This might be a hard buy for some. The industry currently has more affordable options, for one. Also, virtual reality isn’t the most thriving segment of gaming today.
If you’re still decided on buying one, however, Valve is using its lottery system. Interested customers can sign up from now until September 17. The company will then randomize the purchasing order. Those who draw the first ones in the lottery can get a purchase email as soon as September 18. Meanwhile, anyone who registers after September 17 will automatically be put at the back of the queue.
