Fast Forward: iOS 13 and more AAA games are coming this June

This month is all about gaming

Curious about what to expect in the tech world? Here’s a quick roundup of upcoming events and launches happening in June!

Apple will hold WWDC 2019

Apple’s annual developers conference is happening on June 3 and this year’s keynote might have a few important announcements. The list of expected things to be shown on stage includes iOS 13 with its new dark mode feature and macOS 10.15 codenamed “Marzipan.”

On the hardware side, we could see a new Mac Pro for Apple’s high-end users. The infamous trash can-like chassis of the current Mac Pro has been around since 2013, so it’s really due for an upgrade. To complement the new Mac Pro, there are also rumors about a 6K pro display.

E3 2019 is going to be a haven of upcoming games

Electronic Entertainment Expo or E3 for short is back again this year and, as always, it’ll be all about the newest and nicest things in the gaming industry. The expo will run for three days starting June 11 at the Los Angeles Convention Center.

E3 is always attended by hardware manufacturers, software developers, and publishers from the video game industry. This year though, Sony is skipping the festivities (sorry guys, no PS5 yet) which means Microsoft will be the biggest star of the show. Rumor has it that Microsoft will debut its next-gen Xbox codenamed Project Scarlett with 14 Xbox Game Studios games in the pipeline.

Nintendo might finally show us a new Switch

Nintendo will be present at E3 2019, although their primary focus will be on games. The company will first air Nintendo Direct online before opening a massive booth at E3’s show floor. While we are looking forward to knowing more about the new Pokemon titles, the rumor about a new Nintendo Switch is more exciting.

According to early hearsay, Nintendo is working on a redesigned Switch that’ll be sold at a cheaper price. However, we’ve learned via Bloomberg that the new Switch announcement at E3 is not happening. Maybe they’ll have a separate event? Or a quick teaser? We’ll know soon.
