Our Best of CES Awards

When it comes to the world of technology, the annual Consumer Electronics Show has always been the event showcasing what to look forward to not just today but tomorrow. And for the first time ever, GadgetMatch honored the best in show.

At CES 2018, GadgetMatch handed out 15 awards including those for Best Smartphone, Best Consumer Laptop, and Best AI Device (click here for the complete list of winners). Each of our award winners were carefully selected by our editorial team, a result of many hours of scrutiny and debate.

Winners were given medals of excellence. Lenovo was our runaway winner this year taking home three awards; LG came in a close second with two.

LG was one of our big winners, taking home two awards for their AI-based ThinQ products

GadgetMatch Awards are handed out at three of the biggest tech events of the year, the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas every January, Mobile World Congress in Barcelona every February, and IFA in Berlin every September. To be considered for an award, send us an email.

New Year, New Look!

What better way to start 2018 than with a fresh coat of paint. Digital paint that is! Over the holidays a team of elves have been working overtime on a new way for you to experience GadgetMatch.

Today we are rolling out a new and improved GadgetMatch.com designed primarily to make it easier for you to discover the breadth of content that we have on offer.

Right from our Home Page you’ll be able to sample the hottest stories from our different sections. Be it well loved standards like Reviews and Unboxings, or new favorites like Her GadgetMatch, Gaming and Smart Cars.

Video Pages also get an upgrade. Now from the website you’ll be able to watch our latest YouTube videos, Facebook shorts, and Live programs or skim through our entire library of videos.

And finally from the article pages, we’re making easier for you to jump to the next story or find new topics that you might want to read next.   

As always, regardless of how you choose to access GadgetMatch.com we’ve made sure that mobile and desktop users get a consistent experience.

But we’re not finished yet, there’s a lot more to be done, and we need your help. Over the next few months we will be rolling out more features and tweaks. If you run into a bug, or have any suggestions on how we can improve this experience for you, let us know by filling up this form.

Silver Play Button

It’s finally here, our Silver Play Button from YouTube. Creators the world over are awarded this plaque upon surpassing 100,000 subscribers.

Our YouTube Channel crossed the 100K threshold last March ahead of our June target!

Some of you may not know this but GadgetMatch started on YouTube back in 2014, so this accomplishment is extra special to us. We’ve already got our sights set on the Gold Button handed out to channels with over a million subs.

To celebrate, here are some GadgetMatch YouTube trivia:

Our first video was published on September 3, 2014 and was shot, edited, and posted from Berlin, Germany.

Our most successful video was our Samsung Galaxy Note 7 Hands-On with over 7.5 million minutes watched, 1.5 million views, 23K likes, and 2K comments.

Our biggest audiences (in order) are the United States, Philippines, India, Malaysia, Indonesia, UK, Canada, Singapore, Australia, and Thailand.

The most memorable video we ever shot was How to Make a McWhopper. Shot during our early days, it was our way of proving to ourselves that we could react fast and work quick. From idea to publishing, the video took about just an evening to put together. While it may not be the usual video, it still has a techie twist at the end of it.

The unboxing video that took the longest to shoot was our Zenfone 3 Ultra Unboxing which was shot over a course of three days because of our ambitious setup. The cocktail we used as a prop had to be made several times over, and was eventually frozen so we didn’t have to re-make it.

Our favorite review video to make was our iPhone 8 and 8 Plus Review which we shot on location in Singapore over a course of two days. We often go out of our way to make sure each video is as comprehensive as possible, and for this particular video, we hunted down one of the only establishments in Singapore that had wireless charging built into its tables just so we could show off the new iPhone’s wireless charging abilities.
