Huawei Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro get discounts in the Philippines

Published

on

Huawei didn’t launch any new phone this week, but they’re still grabbing the attention of Filipinos by offering significant cash discounts for their current flagship handsets.

In what seems to be permanent markdowns, the Mate 10 is now PhP 29,990 (from PhP 32,990) and the Mate 10 Pro is only PhP 36,990 (from PhP 38,990).

Considering how these are the best smartphones Huawei offers today and prices are going up for the flagships from other brands, these are seriously good deals.

Both phones offer a large display with minimal bezels, artificial intelligence to boost performance through time, and some of the best cameras we’ve ever seen on smartphones. You can find out more about them in our comprehensive reviews.

These discounts also seem timely with Huawei set to launch their new P20 series of devices later this month in Paris, France. Three phones are anticipated to be released, and they’re expected to have even better AI integration and camera performance.

ASUS ZenFone Max Plus (M1) gets a price cut

The affordable phone just got cheaper

Published

on

Just as we’re expecting ASUS to launch the new ZenFone Max Pro in the Philippines, they gave their other ZenFone Max variant a price cut. This makes it more affordable and one of the best cheaper options for budget-oriented consumers.

The ZenFone Max Plus (M1) had its suggested retail price dropped to PhP 9,995 from PhP 11,995 when it got launched. The so-called “Battery King” is ASUS’ first 18:9 phone announced back in January.

To entice consumers more about the price cut, ASUS is also raffling off three JBL T450BT headphones. Simply share and like ASUS’ post on their Facebook page from June 1 until June 15.

The ZenFone Max Plus (M1) boasts a large 4130mAh battery that’s claimed to last for up to 26 days in standby mode. It also has dual rear cameras, 4GB of memory, 32GB of expandable storage.

Planet Cable offers bundled 3Mbps unlimited broadband for PhP 674

Unlimited internet!

Published

on

Planet Cable might have the cheapest broadband plan available in the Philippines. And before you guys rant about throttling and data caps, they only offer unlimited internet. The catch, as always, is the coverage area.

If you are looking to install fixed broadband at your place, you might want to check out Planet’s latest offers. Too bad they only offer their residential broadband plans bundled with their existing cable subscription.

The cheapest available plan has a monthly service fee of PhP 674 which includes a Lite Cable plan with 36 SD channels and 3Mbps unlimited internet. Not bad, right? If you want slightly faster speeds, a 5Mbps bundled plan is priced at PhP 824/month while a 10Mbps bundled plan goes for PhP 1,324/month.

The best value would be the 20Mbps bundled plan for PhP 1,699/month. It’s considerably cheaper than PLDT or Globe’s 20Mbps fiber plan, plus it also comes with a cable subscription. It doesn’t beat Converge’s FiberX 1500 plan that has 25Mbps speed, though.

Planet Cable’s coverage is pretty limited in select areas of Antipolo, Cavite, Batangas, Iloilo, and Laguna. It’s best to contact them first through their Facebook page or website.
