realme Buds Q2s review: An audio standout

For its asking price

realme Buds Q2s

Looking for a great pair of wireless earbuds doesn’t have to be complicated. Those that deliver great audio quality and come with a compact package should do the trick. However, the problem with most wireless earbuds is that while they are marketed to offer the same experience, not all are created equal. It’s this sad reality that often disappoints and ultimately leads to customers begging off at the last moment.

And that’s where realme begs to differ yet again. The release of the realme Buds Q2s is a gentle reminder that the company would like to stand out when it comes to its latest TWS offering.

Stylish, lightweight, seamless

realme Buds Q2s

An improved version of its predecessor, the realme Buds Q2, the Buds Q2s comes with an upgraded casing that has a translucent upper half, mimicking the appearance of a space capsule. And it’s not all aesthetic; the charging case is chiefly responsible for the earbuds’ 480mAh battery life. That’s 40mAh for each of the actual earbuds and 400mAh for the case.

That’s what delivers up to 30 hours of playback time — 10 hours longer than the previous version. You also get up to 60 hours of standby time. The overall package is still lightweight and compact. It lets users to bring it wherever as it fits nicely into any pocket or bag. In addition, a 10-minute charge also allows for three hours of playback in case you’re always on the go.

Along with the case and earbuds, you’ll also got an extra pair of earbud covers, a USB Type-C charging wire, and a user guide.

Impressive sound quality

The Buds Q2s is equipped with a 10mm Bass Boost Driver. The company made this iteration better with support for Dolby Atmos and Environmental Noise Cancellation for calls. These weren’t present in the Buds Q2.

Such features take the earbuds to a whole new level. You get clear and loud sound with deep bass when listening to music or watching movies. The sound quality immediately stood out when we first tried it. In fact, it’s so loud that setting your device’s volume to just 50 percent already immerses you. All while blocking out whatever background noise there is.

Complementing this is the Game Mode to get an even more cinematic feel while playing your favorite mobile games. It made battles even more engaging on our end along with its 88ms super low latency. If you want to simply zone out and be away from distractions, you can definitely bet on the Buds Q2s.

Great fit to take anywhere

realme Buds Q2s

The Buds Q2s lives up to expectations when it comes to sound quality, but even more amazing was its fit. This really stood out, as the stylish pair snuck in place nicely. This is true even when running at full speed. Unlike other earbuds which usually get loose or fall off when the ride gets bumpy or even when you’re just walking — major turnoffs if you’d ask us.

It’s an assurance that there will be no distraction while working out or listening to some good music on your next road trip of flight. Of course, since it’s also rated IPX4 for water resistance, the more ideal it is to bring with you outdoors for whatever the purpose is, from workouts to your next recreational trip.

Furthermore, Intelligent Touch Controls and support for realme Link App also makes the experience even more seamless as you can pause or skip to the next tracks or answer calls directly with just two taps on either side.

Is this your GadgetMatch?

There is no doubt that the realme Buds Q2s once again checked all the boxes, picking up from where realme left off the last time out. Whether you’re looking for an upgrade or making the switch from wired to wireless, the realme Buds Q2 is definitely a steal.

At PhP 1,490, you are getting a powerful and impressive package here that will definitely suit all of your needs from its standout audio quality, portability, and comfort.

Huawei releases FreeBuds Pro 2 in the Philippines

With ANC 2.0 technology

FreeBuds Pro 2

Huawei has released its latest TWS Bluetooth earbuds — the FreeBuds Pro 2 — in the Philippines.

The FreeBuds Pro 2 will retail for PhP 9,999 via Huawei’s Shopee and Lazada shops, online stores, authorized retail outlets.

The device will be available in Silver Blue, Ceramic White, and Silver Frost, with an installment payment option.

ANC 2.0: Creating a quiet world

The latest earbuds feature an adaptive active noise cancellation (ANC) technology, along with the original integrated call noise cancellation to enable users to dynamically listen to their preferred music or content.

This intelligent ANC 2.0 takes what noise cancellation is capable of even further, as the FreeBuds Pro 2 can accurately identify and judge the external sound field environment with changes.

For instance, when a user is in the subway, the noise cancellation effects deepen and reduces severe low-frequency noise. In contrast, when in coffee shops, the ANC intelligently adapts. In any case, the earbuds keep users immersed to whatever they’re listening to.

On top of this innovative technology, the FreeBuds Pro 2 has up to 30 hours of playback time, thanks to its 580mAh charging case. Boosted by its 11mm driver, the earbuds is also rated IP 54 for splash, water, and dust resistance.
