The Galaxy S21 series features a slightly altered look, improved cameras from a software standpoint, and a host of new features for video-taking. Something entirely new to the S series is the Galaxy S21 Ultra’s S Pen support — a feature previously reserved only for the Galaxy Note series.

The series will also remove charging bricks from the box — a move that Apple did and Samsung previously mocked.

The entire Galaxy S21 series also has UWB or Ultra Wide Band. It lets users point their phone at another Galaxy phone to send files. The feature set has been expanded to include unlocking your car with your phone.

Samsung is also launching an accessory called Smart Tags. These are trackers you can attach to your keys or your backpack. You can then use these to locate your items using the SmartThings Find App.

Mi 11X Pro launches with Snapdragon 888, 108MP camera

Alongside the midrange Mi 11X

Published

After weeks of teasing, Xiaomi has finally unveiled the Mi 11X series, and it’ll be succeeding the Mi 10T series. Consisting of the Mi 11X Pro and the Mi 11X, the series will be going up against the vivo X60 series, realme GT, OnePlus 9 series, and OPPO Find X3 series.

The Mi 11X Pro sits between the ultra-premium range and midrange, offering best-in-class specifications that aren’t too heavy on the pocket. Unlike its predecessor, it’s much lighter now, coming in at 196g. The primary camera also has a halo ring that makes the lens easy to spot. It’s IP53 rated for dust and water protection.

On the front is a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, Full HD resolution, Gorilla Glass 5 protection, and HDR10+ support. Under the hood is a Snapdragon 888 processor that’s backed by Adreno 660 GPU. There’s 8GB of RAM, and storage isn’t expandable.

The rear gets a triple-camera setup that includes a 108-megapixel primary sensor, an 8-megapixel wide-angle lens, and a 5-megapixel macro lens. Xiaomi says the new primary sensor leverages 9-in-1 2.1μm Super Pixel technology that produces better low-light images and retains details. On the front is a 20-megapixel front camera that’s located in a punch-hole cut-out.

Backing these internals is a slightly small 4520mAh battery that supports 33W fast charging. According to the brand, it can charge the phone fully in just 52 minutes. There’s no headphone jack in line with previous Mi-branded premium phones, and the fingerprint scanner is located on the side.

The Mi 11X Pro costs INR 39,999 (US$ 533) for the 8GB+128GB option and INR 41,999 (US$ 560) for the 8GB+256GB variant. Shipments start from May 3, and color options include Cosmic Black, Lunar White, and Magic Celestial Silver.

The Mi 11X, on the other hand, inherits a lot of features from the elder sibling. It has the same AMOLED display, design, battery, and even color options. But it’s powered by a Snapdragon 870 processor, and there’s an option with 6GB RAM. On the rear, it gets a 48-megapixel primary camera instead, while the other two sensors remain the same as the Mi 11X Pro.

It’s priced at INR 29,999 (US$ 400) for the 6GB+128GB option and 8GB+128GB goes for INR 31,999 (US$ 425). The sale starts on April 27 via Mi.com, Mi Stores, Amazon.in, and other offline partners.

Call of Duty: Warzone and Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Season Three launches today with the most ambitious free content offering in Call of Duty history.

Season Three marks a huge celebration for Call of DutyWarzone, which has crossed 100 million players since its launch last year. The free-to-play, free-for-everyone battle royale experience that fans know and love, receives its biggest transformation yet, travelling back to 1984 and the Cold War.

The new Warzone features massive changes, including new and reimagined locations, new gameplay options and deep optimizations across the entire map as nearly every building, surface and object has been touched to provide a more seamless gameplay experience.

Black Ops Cold War Season Three

Across Black Ops Cold War, throughout Season Three players will experience new multiplayer maps and modes, the next chapter of Call of Duty Zombies in Outbreak and a host of new gear to use in the battles ahead.  This is just the beginning with more content, events and surprises to come this season and beyond.

“The launch of Warzone has reinvented Call of Duty.  In just over a year, more than 100 million players around the world have jumped in to play Warzone together, and starting today we’re taking it to a new level,” said Rob Kostich, President, Activision.

“Season Three brings a massive amount of content and new updates – the most since launch – to Warzone as it transforms to 1984, while we’re also bringing a tremendous amount of new, free content to Black Ops Cold War.  Thank you to our fans everywhere, today is a celebration for our community. There’s so much more coming this season and beyond, get ready.”

Community events

The massive Season Three community celebration taking place today is the culmination of weeks of events inside Warzone that led to waves of Zombies overtaking Verdansk, its eventual nuclear detonation and ultimate transformation — and Call of Duty players were there for every part of it.

  • For weeks, players have fought-off Zombies throughout Warzone, while tracking their progress via Containment Protocols and Corruption Zones.
  • Yesterday, as the Zombies horde reached its tipping point, millions of players experienced an event in-game that triggered a nuclear blast decimating the entire Warzone map, as Verdansk went dark.
  • In its aftermath, Warzone players were transported to Rebirth Island, where a series of mysterious in-game clues and hidden messages helped players unlock the remaining secrets of the event and understand what really happened to Warzone, ultimately transporting everyone to Verdansk in the year 1984, and the highly anticipated launch of Season Three.
  • As the new Warzone experience officially launches today, the community celebration continues as players head online to play all the new Season Three content, including the new-look Verdansk 1984 Warzone map and a host of new Multiplayer and Zombies content across Black Ops Cold War.
  • Fans can follow the latest intel @CallofDuty on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook, or visit www.callofduty.com. Viewers can also head to Twitch.tv/callofduty for live action, including the Atlanta FaZe US$ 100,000 Gold Rush Tournament.

Call of Duty: Warzone is integrated with Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. Call of Duty and its titles are published by Activision, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Activision Blizzard (NASDAQ: ATVI), and developed by studios (in alphabetical order) Activision Shanghai, Beenox, Demonware, High Moon Studios, Infinity Ward, Raven Software, Treyarch and Sledgehammer Games.
