TP-Link unveils Wi-Fi 8 lineup with Archer 8 Ultra, Deco 8 Ultra

TP-Link has unveiled what it calls the world’s first complete Wi-Fi 8 lineup at IFA 2026. The lineup is led by the Archer 8 Ultra router and Deco 8 Ultra mesh Wi-Fi system.

Both devices use TP-Link’s new Wi-Fi 8 StabilityEngine, which aims to improve coverage, manage congestion, and reduce interference for more consistent connectivity.

The company will reveal the full details of its Wi-Fi 8 lineup during a global online launch event on September 30, 2026. Pre-orders for the Archer 8 Ultra will also begin in select regions on the same date.

Built for more reliable connections

Wi-Fi 8 is designed to address more than raw speed. The upcoming IEEE 802.11bn standard also targets common connectivity issues such as weak coverage, network congestion, and interference.

TP-Link’s StabilityEngine brings several technologies together to address these issues. Enhanced Long Range (ELR) and Distributed Resource Units (DRU) are designed to extend coverage and improve uplink performance for distant, low-power devices.

Non-Primary Channel Access (NPCA) helps keep networks responsive as more devices connect. Unequal Modulation (UEQM) and new Modulation and Coding Schemes (MCS) are designed to maintain consistent throughput in areas with interference.

TP-Link says the lineup will combine Wi-Fi 8 chipsets from Broadcom, Qualcomm, and MediaTek with its hardware and software engineering.

Meet the first Wi-Fi 8 devices

The Archer 8 Ultra BN19000, also referred to as the Archer BN800, is a tri-band Wi-Fi 8 router. It offers up to 19Gbps of combined wireless speeds and 10Gbps wired connectivity.

The router also features 18 internal high-performance antennas designed to provide consistent coverage throughout the home.

Meanwhile, the Deco 8 Ultra BN22000, or Deco BN85, is a tri-band Wi-Fi 8 mesh system. It offers up to 22Gbps of combined wireless speeds and 10Gbps wired connectivity.

A three-pack can cover up to 9,800 square feet and support more than 200 connected devices.

Designed to stay in the open

TP-Link also focused on the appearance of its new Wi-Fi 8 hardware. The company says traditional routers often get hidden away, which can limit where users place them and, in turn, their performance.

The Archer 8 Ultra uses a minimalist, architectural design with a dual-tone grille and micropatterns. A soft emissive glow replaces traditional indicator LEDs for device status.

The Deco 8 Ultra retains the familiar Deco shape but uses organic edges and a compact footprint. Its matte body blends into its surroundings, while a glossy top provides a contrasting finish.

“We stopped building a piece of networking equipment and started designing for the home,” said Gary Chang, who leads industrial design at TP-Link’s Irvine headquarters.

Wi-Fi 8 availability

The Archer 8 Ultra will be available for pre-order in select regions starting September 30, 2026. TP-Link says availability will vary by region.

The company also plans to expand the lineup with additional Wi-Fi 8 products:

• Deco 8: Wi-Fi 8 mesh system, planned for Q1 2027
• Roam 8: Wi-Fi 8 travel router, planned for Q2 2027
• Wi-Fi 8 range extenders and adapters: planned for Q2 2027

TP-Link notes that planned products, specifications, and availability windows may change.

The company will showcase the Archer 8 Ultra and Deco 8 Ultra at IFA 2026 in Hall 7.2C, Stand 101.

TP-Link will reveal the full details of both devices during its global online launch event on September 30. Consumers can also sign up for launch and availability updates through the company’s Wi-Fi 8 page.
