Galaxy S21, Unpacked: GadgetMatch welcomes 2021 with Samsung’s new smartphone
A peek at Samsung’s best

Samsung unpacked the future when it showcased the Samsung Galaxy S21 series in its annual Unpacked event.
Despite being in a pandemic, the GadgetMatch team successfully covered Unpacked remotely. Both teams in New York and Manila had their exclusive briefings, following safety protocols in this new normal.
Galaxy S21, Unpacked
With our materials ready, our social media platforms are filled with Galaxy S21 content as soon as the clock hits 11 PM.
This year, I had another chance to do what gives my heart joy: styling and arranging a set design. And clearly, we had fun with it when Samsung Philippines held a briefing for the #GalaxyS21 series. Sometimes, I love my job. #Unpacked https://t.co/wYS5tMKY1H pic.twitter.com/ECeRpZVYbI

And while we’re at it, we played LOONA’s Star music video in 4K to showcase the new 4K UHD+ (1440p) 120Hz Dynamic AMOLED display on the new Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra.#SamsungUnpacked #Unpacked2021 #GadgetMatchLIVE@gadgetmatch #StanLOONA#StreamLOONAStar pic.twitter.com/b6FIgVxckA

Even though we’re out spreading the news about the newest Galaxy, the GadgetMatch team still had their reactions aired on their respective platforms.
Samsung did the best thing they could have done this year – and slash $200 off the price of the Galaxy S21! Check out my first look here: https://t.co/uyuX972FQa

I lowkey hope Samsung’s SmartTags can help me track myself, in case I lose myself this year. #GalaxyUnpacked #Unpacked2021

Samsung Smart Tags+ are exactly what I’ve been waiting for. UWB based trackers for all your things. #GalaxyUnpacked

Wow an entire product video about how Samsung achieved the new Phantom Black color on the S21 Ultra. Using haze glass that “preserves black in its truest form.” #SamsungUnpacked

I’m one of the few people who loves the Galaxy S21’s new camera design.
Phantom Violet + Phantom Red stood out the most because of that daring/garish combo – a proof that you DON’T need gradient phones to lure the eyes of many.#SamsungUnpacked #Unpacked2021 #GadgetMatchLIVE pic.twitter.com/hbqoK6NsAS

‘Dewing Things Alone’ is the wallpaper for rainy season
Sometimes, you just gotta love the rain

Changing your wallpapers to suit the weather is perfectly valid behavior. If you’re in the mood to switch your wallpaper this rainy season, here’s one for you.
Angelikah Gustilo, the Philippine-based artist behind our well-loved Pride wallpapers, came up with yet another wallpaper to match your emotions.
Entitled “Dewing Things Alone”, this set of wallpapers evokes a feeling of comfort and being at home. It captures that serenity and peace you enjoy as the rain pours, living in the comfort of yourself and connecting on a mundane yet meaningful level.
To Gustilo, rainy days have always been a source of comfort as an only child. The rainy season gave her books which transported her to places, and hot drinks that made her warm and giddy — enough to ponder and look out of the windows and imagine what awaits when the storm is over.
These wallpapers are her own take on loving the rainy season, and she hopes there are people who can relate to her love for the rain.

GadgetMatch’s wallpaper ‘Fluid’ is a coming out story
GadgetMatch’s wallpaper for Pride Month embraces being queer

Happy Pride Month from the GadgetMatch team!
Continuing our celebration with the LGBTQ+ community, we have one more wallpaper to share.
Introducing Fluid, the artwork explores the concept of one’s sexuality — forever changing, forever molding, and forever discovering. The rainbow pattern is speckled with grain, suggesting noise as the obstacles in the journey to self-love and self-discovery.
On another note, the words “Let Me Be Perfectly Queer” are a nod to allowing yourself to embrace your authentic self without reservations. It’s choosing to let go of painful moments — and memories — that forced you to stay silent.
Fluid reminds us to allow ourselves to grow in the love we feel, even if it’s scary and different. The artwork is designed by Philippine-based artist, Angelikah Gustilo, who is also behind No Different, the wallpaper we released previously.
“In the last semester of my third year in University, I took a class by Alfred Marasigan and Hidde van der Wall titled Art of the Queer. The course allowed me to be less afraid of my own self-exploration journey, and I’m grateful to be able to showcase these simple pieces that are the gems of wisdom I took away from the class,” said Gustilo.
Download Fluid and set it as your wallpaper for your phone, tablet, or your laptop!

GadgetMatch’s wallpaper ‘No Different’ celebrates love and queer people
It’s all about embracing individuality

Happy Pride Month from the GadgetMatch team!
As part of celebrating love, freedom, and the LGBTQ+ community, we’ve asked an artist to create an artwork that depicts Pride.
Angelikah Gustilo, an artist based in the Philippines, came up with No Different. To Gustilo, No Different presents queer people as people — capable of loving despite the difference in orientation.
Through geometric shapes, Gustilo presented that being queer isn’t dictated by a certain look, or a certain manner you carry yourself. It’s being different; deviating from what the majority of society thinks is normal. The larger rectangle represents the space where everyone exists, regardless of their orientation.
