vivo V30

The highly-anticipated vivo V30 series, which features a ZEISS camera system, has finally been released in the Philippines.

The latest V series smartphones’ launch officially marks the start of vivo’s partnership with the German optics leader, bringing highly-capable cameras to vivo’s popular midrange line.

The series-headlining vivo V30 Pro features four 50MP cameras, while the cheaper model, the vivo V30, has three 50MP shooters.

Price, availability

The vivo V30 is available in Petals White and Green Sea for PhP 24,999 (256GB) and PhP 27,999 (512GB). Meanwhile, the the vivo V30 Pro (Petals White) comes with a PhP 34,999 price tag.

Customers may purchase at vivo’s official store, Lazada, Shopee, TikTok, and authorized retailers. Those opting for installment plans may do so via Home Credit.

New era in portrait photography

The vivo V30 Pro is accompanied by the following cameras:

  • 50MP VCS True Color main camera OIS
  • 50MP AF ultra-wide angle camera
  • 50MP Portrait Lens camera
  • 50MP AF group selfie camera

Meanwhile, the vivo V30 has these shooters:

  • 50MP VCS True Color main camera OIS
  • 50MP AF ultra-wide angle camera
  • 50MP AF group selfie camera

Through the partnership, the vivo V30 series’ rear cameras underwent a rigorous development process that meets ZEISS imaging standards.

The flagship-level main camera has a 1/1.55-inch sensor size, offering topnotch sensitivity and OIS to allow users to capture night scenes with ease.

The 50MP AF ultra-wide angle camera, meanwhile, is a leap from the typical 2MP, 5MP, and 8MP ultra-wide cameras from previous generations. With a significantly higher pixel count and 119-degree field of view, this shooter gives users more detail for expansive landscapes and other scenarios.

The only difference between the two models is the extra 50MP lens on the Pro, which is specifically designed for portraits.

This series also brings a color system that features three ZEISS filters to aid users when shooting: Vivid, Natural, and Textured. In addition, the phones are introducing six new ZEISS-inspired portrait bokeh styles, offering users to be even more creative when snapping photos.

The series’ camera system is not only ideal for stills; with hybrid OIS+EIS, the phones support smoother and more stable filming. What’s even better is users may leverage the Vlog Movie Creator to help with shortform video creation.

Aura Light 3.0

Accompanying the vivo V30 phones’ cameras is the redesigned Aura Light.

First introduced in the past two V series lines, the Aura Light has expanded with a squared look. The light it emits covers an area 19 times larger, yet softer than a standard flash. This improvement preserves the smooth texture of skin most specially in captures.

Moreover, vivo also expanded the Smart Color Temperature Adjustment feature’s color range. With this, users can aptly complement the subject and its surroundings with the proper light color.

An ultra-sensing algorithm system works in conjunction with these hardware. The Portrait Beautification algorithm also processes images right from the moment they are taken, enhancing them when viewed.

Food connoisseurs will also love the new 3D fill light that aids in shots of food even in dim lighting conditions.

Capable hardware, software

The vivo V30 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 processor. On the other hand, the Pro variant houses a MediaTek Dimensity 8200 chipset. Both devices have a 5,000mAh battery that support 80W FlashCharge.

Design-wise, the phones are just 7.45mm thick, making them the thinnest 5,000mAh phones in the market.

For their display, the phones have a 6.78-inch Ultra Clear Sunlight Display. This 3D curved screen has a 120Hz refresh rate and 2,800nits of maximum brightness.

Furthermore, the phones run on the Android 14-based Funtouch OS, and supports 12GB of RAM and up to 512GB of internal storage.

What your smartphone color choice reveals about you

Eight colors, eight personalities. Here’s how to pick.

Published

on

Your phone color says more than you think. With the Pixel 11 series, Google’s giving you eight ways to make that statement, and there’s genuinely one for every kind of person.

Hibiscus

You’re never the quiet one in the room. Hibiscus doesn’t ask for attention; it just takes it, and if that sounds like you, you’re probably not planning to start hiding now. This is the pick for anyone who’d rather stand out than blend in.

Pistachio

You’re the one who remembers everyone’s coffee order. Pistachio is soft and easy; the one whom people gravitate toward without quite knowing why. It doesn’t try hard to be liked. It just is.

Frost

You like things a little too organized. Frost means clean lines and a clear head, the color equivalent of a camera roll with zero mess in it. If your notes app has color-coded folders, this one’s calling your name.

Obsidian

You let the work speak for itself. No flash needed, because when you show up, the room adjusts anyway. Obsidian is the classic choice, the one that’s never trying too hard because it doesn’t have to.

Canyon

You’re the one who suggests the sunset drive. Canyon is warm and a little restless, always chasing golden hour whether or not anyone else is up for it. Available on the Pro and Pro XL, it’s built for people who treat every evening like it might be a good one.

Olive

You’re outdoorsy, but you’ll still show up looking put together. Olive is low-key and grounded, the one who doesn’t try too hard because it’s already comfortable in its own skin. Another Pro and Pro XL exclusive.

Fog

You’re hard to read, and you like it that way. Fog is understated on purpose, a Pro and Pro XL colorway for anyone who’d rather keep people guessing.

So, which one’s you?

Eight colors, three phones, one very personal decision. Pixel 11, Pixel 11 Pro, and Pixel 11 Pro XL goes on sale starting August 20 — with Pistachio, Hibiscus, Frost, and Obsidian on the base model; and Canyon, Fog, Olive, and Obsidian on the Pro line.

Pixel 11 Pro Fold brings an improved foldable experience

Google’s most durable yet

Published

on

Today, Google launched three different flavors of the Pixel 11 series. If three levels of flatness aren’t enough, the series has a fourth option for you: a new and improved Pixel 11 Pro Fold.

Like the rest of the series, the Pixel 11 Pro Fold is lighter than its predecessor. It’s almost 10 percent lighter and around 1mm thinner than the Pixel 10 Pro Fold.

For a foldable, it’s also Google’s most durable. The foldable has the new scratch-resistant Super Actua display, touting 3600nits of brightness. Plus, the rear has a new glass fiber composite back cover, which Google says is “nearly impossible to crack.” It also has IP68 dust and water resistance.

Inside, the Pixel 11 Pro Fold comes with the new Tensor G6 chipset paired with 16GB of RAM.

For cameras, the foldable has the new 48-megapixel main sensor and a telephoto lens that touts up to 30x Super Zoom. The camera bar then comes in a smaller format on the top left corner of the rear.

Much like the regular phones, the Pixel 11 Pro Fold comes with the new HiLight feature, a notification dot that lights up (and can be customized) whenever notifications pop up.

Finally, the foldable has faster wired charging, promising half of the battery’s capacity in only 30 minutes of charging time. It’s also 20 percent faster with 25W Qi2.2 wireless charging built inside.

The Pixel 11 Pro Fold comes in two colorway options: Obsidian and Olive. It hits shelves in August 20.
