There’s something about the OnePlus 3’s packaging that makes unboxing it an experience.
From its elegant yet understated red-white color scheme and the layers upon layers of things to unpack, to everything in the box that is well thought-out, keeping in with the company’s tagline, “Never settle.”
The OnePlus series, with its high-end specs and midrange pricing, has been many a tech journalist’s favorite since it debuted three years ago. However, acquiring a OnePlus phone has been a rather elusive task because of the company’s frustrating invite system.
Thankfully, that silliness is over and done with. You should be able to purchase a OnePlus 3 anywhere in the world for $400.
We’ll save most of the commentary for the review, but it must be said that from the get go, there’s no denying the OnePlus 3 is a premium product.
It’s solidly built and beautiful and evokes a “Wow!” moment as soon as you take it out of the box. We also love the splashes of red in the packaging, from the red Type-C cable to the red accent of the bundled Dash Charger.
We would have loved if OnePlus bundled one of its stylish cases with the phone, because it might be hard to find one. If you are getting the OnePlus 3, you should definitely pair your purchase with a case from its maker. The phone doesn’t come with a set of earbuds, either.
Nevertheless, the positives far outweigh those negatives, which we feel should be at the heart of all “Should I buy this?” discussions.
