Nokia’s sponsored phones in No Time to Die are now outdated

Crew is rushing to reshoot scenes

Back when the world was normal, HMD Global teased a monumental partnership with the crew behind the still-upcoming James Bond film, No Time to Die. However, as you might have guessed, the hyped-up spy film has been pushed endlessly because of the ongoing pandemic. Initially slated for an April 2020 release date, the film is now coming out in October 2021, barring any more delays, that is. Now, the inevitable has happened: Nokia’s sponsored phones in James Bond are now outdated.

Plus, according to The Sun, the production crew is livid, eager to salvage the rapidly obsoleting product deals. By the time that No Time to Die finally comes out, the Nokia 8 V 5G UW, which will don the hands of the next 007 lead Lashana Lynch, will already be obsolete.

According to the source, the crew wants to reshoot some scenes to reflect newer (or more timeless) devices. Obviously, the point of a product deal is to showcase a company’s latest devices. With the delays, all those plans are off the table already. With potential reshoots (or even post-production edits) on the table instead, who knows when the film will come out now?

Besides Nokia, the film also showcases James Bond’s usual tray of watches and cars. Because of the partnership, Nokia is the main smartphone partner for the film.
