OPPO has launched the OPPO Pad 2 in Singapore, setting a new benchmark for tablets in the island.

The OPPO Pad 2 boasts an industry-first 7:5 aspect ratio on its 11.61-inch display, offering users about a 10% wider viewing and reading experience.

The screen also comes with a flagship-level 2800 x 2000 resolution and 144Hz refresh rate. It comes with five levels of adaptive refresh rate adjustment for smoother visuals across any content or games.

Complementing the device’s display is Dolby Vision HDR, as well as four symmetrical speakers which support Dolby Atmos.

The Tablet features a MediaTek Dimensity 9000 processor, 8GB of DDR5 memory, and 256GB storage.

Its large 9,510mAh battery supports 67W of SUPERVOOC flash charge. This means it can be recharged back to a full 100% in just 81 minutes.

Smart, efficient connectivity

OPPO’s latest tablet also provides a seamless experience for working across multiple devices.

The Multi-Screen Connect 2.0 feature supports auto-connect between the tablet and any smartphone with the same OPPO account with Bluetooth enabled, so users won’t have to switch to their phones to handle calls or messages.

In addition, multi-device interaction is more convenient and efficient. The tablet supports real-time viewing, editing, and saving of various content such as videos, photos, and files on either device.

Continuous screencast from a phone to the OPPO Pad 2 screen is likewise possible.

Productivity tools

The OPPO Pad 2 will come with a Smart Touchpad Keyboard, an OPPO Pencil, and the OPPO Pad 2 Smart Case.

The keyboard connects to the tablet through magnetic pairing. Meanwhile, the front frame also features a 120-ddegree elevation angle for better viewing.

The pencil, meanwhile, las a low latency of just 0.2 seconds, for a more natural handwriting experience.

Pricing, availability

The OPPO Pad 2 will retail at SG$ 799 inclusive of a free Smart Case. Customers may purchase the tablet on OPPO’s official online store, Shopee, Lazada, Qoo10, TikTok, and iShopChangi.

For a limited time until September 30, customers can purchase the tablet with a Smart Touch Keyboard and Pencil as a package for just SG$ 899.

For reference, the Smart Touchpad Keyboard is priced at SG$ 139, while the Pencil is SG$ 119. The Smart Case is also sold separately for SG$ 59.

OnePlus officially leaves the United States and Canada

The brand’s smartphones are now sold out in the United States.

Once upon a time, OnePlus used to be the darling child of smartphone users on a budget. For a more meager price than a flagship, users can enjoy flagship specs on a uniquely designed phone. Who can forget the iconic OnePlus One?

Unfortunately, prices have a way of catching up. Though the brand’s phones are still perfectly good, more options have already emerged as alternatives for a so-called flagship killer, including OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei’s Nothing.

Now, marking the brand’s next step, whatever that is, OnePlus has officially left the North American market. As of today, the company has sold its last smartphone in the United States and Canada. Going on the official OnePlus website will warrant a Sold Out sign for both the OnePlus 15 and 15R. If anything, users can still get a handful of earbuds and cases.

As with everything that sells out, if you really want to cop one of the last remaining models in America, you can grab one off a third-party retailer, but who knows until when that will last?

This isn’t just a stocking issue, either. In July, the company already confirmed that it is pulling out of the region starting this month. It’s a sign of internal restructuring happening inside OPPO and all the brands under its umbrella. There’s also a rumor that OnePlus was relegated to being a sub-brand of OPPO once again.
